Matron of Honor
We went from fighting over clothes and who was right, to sharing secrets and being inseparable. My older sister has always been part of my story — and now she’s my best friend even though I know she’s the one that stole my plucker and hid it in between her mattress thinking I wouldn’t find it! Like come on she had the same 2 hiding places. Can’t forget she’s the biggest tattle tale!
Best Man
Armando and I met in kindergarten, and somehow we both survived each other. We grew up playing basketball, soccer, and cops & robbers — and now he’s CPDs worst shooter. Life really does come full circle. This is the same guy who drives like he’s being chased, almost falls into the Chicago River (despite not knowing how to swim), and thought matching Mexico track shirts in high school was a good idea.. He’s always ready to travel or hit the casino to “strategically” lose money at roulette. Reckless driver, questionable decisions, but the most loyal friend I could ask for.
Bridesmaid
My younger cousin—tall, radiant, and born with a heart full of kindness and love—has also somehow managed to become the ultimate hype girl. She cheers louder than anyone else (I mean she used to be a cheerleader), even when I’m just deciding what shoes to wear. I’ll never forget our touristy activities in Chicago and Los Angeles: hunting for treasures at Forever 21 like pros, and singing See You Again at the top of our lungs every time she had to fly back home. Having her as my bridesmaid means I get the best mix of love, laughs, and relentless cheering by my side!
Groomsman
Alex is my younger brother — which means I’ve known him since birth and still remind him of that regularly. Unfortunately, he grew taller than me, which I absolutely hate. Fortunately, height doesn’t win wrestling matches. Our official record is 342 wins to 2 losses. And we don’t talk about those two. He’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet… until you press his buttons too many times. Then it’s full Super Saiyan mode. From spending hours making legos to now being my go-to gym partner and finance debate buddy, he’s grown up a lot. He may be taller, but I’m still undefeated where it counts. Go-to gym partner is crazy to say 😭 -Yamileex
Bridesmaid
Years of friendship and now my bridesmaid—she’s funny, beautiful, and unforgettable. From gossiping in her office and giving each other horrible advice, to surviving those brutal gym workouts and now giving actual good advice—we’ve done it all. Here’s to growing old together, laughing just as much, and making even more memories I never want to forget! Well… except the day my mom picked me up, pissed, at her house—that one I could probably live without remembering.
Groomsman
My youngest brother — and without question, the most spoiled. This is the same guy who took a 2-minute Uber to school in the rain when he had $20 in his bank account. Financial responsibility was still loading. He never shows up on time, pretends to be tough, and is somehow the goofiest one out of all of us. I like to say he’s a mini me — which explains why we can talk about business all day. I’m genuinely proud of him for wanting to start his own business and chase big goals. And for the record, his wrestling record against me is somehow worse than Alex’s. We won’t publish the numbers to protect his confidence.
Bridesman
I still smile when I think about the days I used to pick him up from school, and we’d walk to Taco Bell or hit up the library and rent as many DVDs as we could. I felt so proud getting to take care of him and be someone he could count on, even though I was just 7 when he was a baby crying because he had a pooped diaper. Somehow all those SHITTY situations made our bond even stronger, and now the same little boy gets to wipe my tears on my wedding day!
Groomsman
Juan will always go down in family history as the second fastest cousin — right after me. And yes, I sacrificed my right hamstring proving that point, but some victories are forever. Despite being built more for comfort than speed, the man can run surprisingly fast. It shocks everyone every time. His favorite beer is Busch Light (a loyal customer of Anheuser-Busch), he’s always down to party, and more importantly, he’s the one who steps in when I’ve had a few too many and start thinking I can fight people. Fast? Absolutely Not. Solid human? Yes.
Flower Girl
Tiny shoes, epic giggles, and facial expressions that could out-sass a reality TV star. She’s on a one-girl mission to spread love… and just a tiny bit of chaos down the aisle. Watch out—if there’s a way to make you messy, sticky, or otherwise “wedding-day memorable,” she will find it. And when you complain about it, I’ll ask what you did to make her do that.
Ring Bearer
Jase is my Godson, and this guy is pure chaos in the best way. He’s a fighter, fearless, and thinks he’s the next Lionel Messi — honestly, with that super kick, he might be right. Always running, kicking, and keeping life exciting.
Father of the Bride
My dad is truly one of the most caring and hardworking men I know, always putting his family first and giving his whole heart to everything he does. He’s the absolute best at fixing just about anything (like each and every 5 of his kids with house projects, and we are all so good at calling him for help, but he’s always there for us)—if something’s broken, we know Dad can make it better. Some of my favorite memories are him taking us to car shows, trips to Blockbuster for movie nights, quick stops at Dollar Tree, treats from Dunkin’ Donuts, and fun days at the park. He is everything and more than I could ever hope for in a dad, he’s the greatest, dependable, and a loving father, and I’m so proud to celebrate this special day with such an amazing man walking me down the aisle.
Mother of the Groom
My mom is the kindest, sweetest person I know and the woman who taught me how to be a better man. She’s always been my biggest supporter — never missing a track meet or wrestling match and somehow being the loudest person in the crowd every time. She made sure we prayed (sometimes for what felt like hours), but she also made sure I was always fed with my favorite home-cooked meals. I got all my smarts from her — and apparently my DRose basketball skills too… I guess she broke ankles back in her day. Everything I am started with her.
