We met through mutual friends at Iowa State University. Kara had the "love at first sight" feelings, while Kyle took a little longer to convince. After 8 months of growing their friendship and being in the weird talking stage, Kyle finally asked Kara to be his girlfriend! When Kyle asked Kara her answer was "Are you sure?!"

Kara and Kyle were going to Chicago for The 1975 concert. Two days before leaving Kyle decided he wanted to propose, he went and bought the ring, called Kara's parents, and planned it all out. Once in Chicago Kyle took Kara to the Planetarium, where he asked her outside by the water! He had a random person take a picture of the two of them, then he got down on one knee! He carried the ring in his pocket all throughout Chicago, at one point Kara had said "Have any surprises in there for me? This would be a good place to get engaged!"
