sarah's best friend and roommate, caroline, met a guy on the great hill in central park with a dog that looked just like bonita, their intrepid guard dog and squirrel huntress. sarah and caroline began taking care of this guy's (tim) dog (phoebe) when he was out of town, and vice versa. the five of them would rendezvous regularly in the park. a year later, sarah started running with tim while he was training for the nyc marathon. then he invited her to a fred again concert. the rest is history :)
