Finger Lakes Distilling specializes in gin, whisky, brandy, vodka, grappa and liqueurs. Others include Hidden Marsh Distillery (specializing in Vodka made from mead), Knapp Winery, Swedish Hill Winery, Rock Stream Vineyards, Six Mile Creek Vineyards and Beak and Skiff Apple Farm (vodka from apples).
The trail is comprised of over 100 craft brewers spanning roughly 210 miles across the central part of New York, resulting in a trail overflowing with natural beauty along which tourists and beer aficionados alike can enjoy an abundance of delicious locally brewed beers.
Watkins Glen State Park is a beautiful canyon with waterfalls galore, and the hiking trails around Montour Falls are especially appealing to hikers. While you're there, be sure to check out the Queen Catherine Marsh and Havana Glen. The Interlaken Trail, a 12-mile marked trail that runs past two ponds and traverses varied terrain, is one of the trails to check out in the Finger Lakes National Forest.
Begin in Geneva and follow Seneca Lake along NY 14 South. Be prepared for some spectacular views between the lake on the left and trees to your right. Leisurely, continue toward Watkins Glen. There, you will discover a delightfully quaint Main street. End your adventure by perusing the pier, or mosey on over to Watkins Glen State Park. Find yourself up-close and personal with spectacular foliage as the Gorge Trail bobs and weaves against the magnificent falls. Approximate length: 36 Miles / 30 Minutes.
