September 2007: Penn State was just getting going, then the start of THON changed everything. We Are!! 2008-2010: From California to Denver and Virginia to Philadelphia, some years passed... January 2011: New Orleans was the location where a somewhat spontaneous revival occurred, rekindling a flame. March 2011: Skyler moved back east from Colorado, taking residence some 99 miles away from Caitlin in Baltimore. 2011: With proximity being less of an issue, we agreed upon slow progress and promised each other 10 dates before getting too serious. To no one’s surprise, Caitlin didn’t last past 6! 2012: Proximity is reduced to 30 miles with a transfer but thanks to Philadelphia traffic, the time was barely reduced. 2014: Proximity is reduced to 1-2 feet with another change and things just couldn’t get any better as roommates in a house! 2016: Then we were homeless (but together) as we backpacked and had ourselves a nice little walkabout. 2017: Back to Philly, instead of a house we had a studio, which happened to have a pool on its roof (didn’t suck) and most of our stuff sold or in storage we lived the life and had no concrete plans, until....

At one of our favorite spots in Philly, overlooking the water, a garden, and of course a dog park, Skyler as awkwardly and happily as possible got on one knee and made Caitlin just as awkward and happy. Unequivocally, the answer was yes.
