Black tie-optional. What does this mean exactly? It’s actually simpler than it sounds: men can wear a tuxedo, but it’s not a requirement. If they end up going tuxedo-less, though, they should wear a formal dark suit and tie instead. Women should wear a long evening gown.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
