Wedding Party

Abby Schatzman

Bride

Joey David

Groom

Maria Vetter

Maid of Honor

Maria and I became friends at Mercy when we bonded over our shared love of music. We went to Bunbury music festivals together for many years, where we had an awesome time despite severe dehydration and sore feet. Maria has remained an amazing friend who will always answer my random calls. I’m so honored to call her one of my best friends and my maid of honor!

Will Neiheisel

Best Man

Will and I became friends through our shared love of video games, especially Nintendo. He is a true friend that continues to play Super Smash Bros with me even when on a 5 game losing streak. Despite his favorite college football team being “whoever’s playing Ohio State”, Will has become one of my closest friends!

Jess Richter-Hulsman

Matron of Honor

Jess and I became friends at Mercy. She became an honorary member of my family by joining in family trips and gatherings at our farm. She also introduced me to Joey, since they went to grade school together. Jess and I have bonded over hard times and great times together, and according to Costco, we are married and living together. Jess is always there to hype me up when I need it, and she is the best listener. Jess was the first of our friend group to take the plunge into married life, so I’m honored to say that she is one of my best friends and my matron of honor.

Jason Hulsman

Best Man

Anyone who’s met Jason knows that he’s one of the nicest guys out there. Some say he knows every single person on the west side of Cincinnati. Jason is the “dad” of our friend group because he’s always willing to start a bonfire for us, grill up some burgers and dogs, and ask about home improvement projects. Whether he’s being a golf mentor, explaining best strategies for Call of Duty zombies, or jamming out on guitar with me, he’s a guy you can count on!

Amanda Wullenweber

Bridesmaid

Amanda and I met at Mercy, and we’ve been friends ever since! We’ve embarked on so many journeys since then, like joining two running clubs, training for a half marathon (twice), learning to knit and crochet, several long haul road trips, and so much more. Amanda is one of the most caring people I know, as she will always go above and beyond for the people that she loves, and that’s one of the many reasons she’s one of my best friends. I’m so excited for her to stand by me on my wedding day!

Haryoon Jang

Groomsman

Haryoon and I met in our fraternity at Ohio State, and bonded over late nights at Raising Cane’s. He’s always down to host Abby and I when we visit NYC and eat at awesome restaurants. After introducing Haryoon to Pickleball at David Family Court, some say he’s been dominating the Brooklyn Pickleball scene. Haryoon and I even had the privilege of working at the same company!

Lauren Nickels

Bridesmaid

As my cousin, Lauren was one of my first best friends. We have shared countless memories together throughout our lives, including putting on performances at the farm for our family, painting our faces with nail polish (whoops), many sleepovers, and so much more. Lauren convinced me to join her gym, and now I’m grateful to spend time with her for afternoon workouts. She’s one of our most regular guests for dinner, and she’s now even claimed that Joey is her favorite cousin. I’m so happy to have Lauren by my side my whole life and now for the wedding!

Sam Cole

Groomsman

Sam and I have been friends a long time, meeting at St Martins grade school (with Jess and Amanda!) and bonding on World of Warcraft. We continued on to high school together at LaSalle, going to football games together and playing frisbee golf with our friends. I can always count on him to talk shop on Bengals and Buckeye football!

Tara Perillo

Bridesmaid

Tara and I met at a party at Dayton, and we became fast friends after that night. We were eventually roommates, classmates, and best friends. I can always trust Tara to be there for me to hear my rants, give me advice, or just have a great time! Our favorite activity during senior year was to go to Tim’s at Dayton for about 30 minutes and then head back to our house to make late night mac and cheese and watch Queer Eye. Despite no longer living down the hall from each other, we make an effort to see each other often, and I always enjoy our visits filled with great food, wine nights, and laughter. I’m so excited for her to be a part of our big day as a bridesmaid and best friend, and stand by my side!

John David

Groomsman

John is my younger (but not youngest) brother, and my go-to person to talk about anything sports. Whether it’s hopes for a better Blue Jackets team, rooting for the Bengals, discussing college football playoff scenarios, or watching March Madness on 4 TVs at once, he’s the guy! He also cannot be beat in Mario Kart or Luigi’s Mansion speedruns. He’s always excited to watch Coco for us too!

Abbie VanFossen

Bridesmaid

Abbie and I met during a business event at Dayton where we stuck to each other because of our shared name and shared love of employee discounts at Gap and Ralph Lauren. We spent countless hours together studying for accounting exams, going to club meetings together, and going on coffee dates. We even followed each other to the same company for an internship and full-time job. We became such great friends that we even had a mock wedding at Dayton during our junior year, but she graciously allowed Joey to marry me this time around. She’s been with me for so much, and that didn’t change even when she moved to Chicago! I can’t wait for our continued friendship and to celebrate our big day with her!

Tim David

Groomsman

Tim is my oldest brother and first mentor in life. Back in the day, I’d spend countless hours watching him play video games (sometimes with an extra, unplugged controller). Tim, John, and I also enjoy going to Blue Jackets vs Flyers every year in Columbus, with Tim inexplicably rooting for the Flyers. Tim also takes the crown as a champion of David Family Pickleball Court!

Nathan Schatzman

Bridesman

Nate is my brother and one of my best friends. We’ve had so many amazing memories together, like making the most gourmet after-school snacks, going to Red River Gorge together with my friends, competing in Mario Kart Wii, and hours upon hours of playing with our cousins while our parents played cards. We butt heads every now and then, like most siblings, but I consider him to be the yin to my yang, and the best sibling I could ever ask for. I’m so happy that he has welcomed Joey into the family with open arms, and I’m honored that he is standing by my side on the wedding day!

Beth David

Groomswoman

Beth is my sister and arguably the most famous of the David siblings, wowing us all with her art and animating. Abby and I are grateful that Beth has lived in such cool cities, first in NYC and now in San Francisco. She’s a great tour guide and loves having us visit! After growing up with 4 brothers, I am certain she is thrilled to soon have a sister!

Luke Groene

Officiant

Get a load of this guy!!! We’ve been friends with Luke for 8 years and he always brings fun and laughs to the gang. Luke is known for his great movie recommendations and discussions, being a tennis savant, and his musical talents. We can’t wait to celebrate with Luke and for him to tell our story!

Rick David

Groomsman

Rick is my youngest brother and lifetime co-op gaming buddy. We’ve spent countless hours playing games together while growing up (and after growing up). I can always count on him to start up yet another Minecraft world or play an old game together. He’s also our dog Coco’s number 1 fan, and he is always eager to watch her. Rick is also great at the piano and making music, which I’ve also enjoyed playing together!

Zoey Schatzman

Flower Girl

Zoey is Abby’s 5-year-old cousin who just so happens to be a pro flower girl! She is VERY good at hide-and-seek, which she loves to play with Joey (she often is much better at hiding than Joey). She also loves to dance, so look out for her on the dance floor at the wedding. Her favorite movie is The Descendants, and her favorite princesses are Princess Elsa and Princess Ana from Frozen.

Eli Schatzman

Ring Bearer

Eli is Abby’s 3-year-old cousin who loves to watch the movie Cars, and he loves monster trucks. He’s also a big fan of high-fives, dinosaurs, and cookies! He will be making his ring bearer debut at the wedding, but he is confident that his big sister, Zoey, will help him walk down the aisle!
