Birmingham has plenty of breweries that are fun, casual places to hang out. Avondale is the largest and first in the city. They have an awesome patio space with the third largest jumbo screen in the state (behind Jordan-Hare and Bryant-Denny).
Ghost Train is our favorite brewery in Birmingham, both for their beer and their atmosphere. Their Kettle Sour is extraordinary and you can almost always expect a food truck to be stationed there.
The Essential is a unique little restaurant that also just happens to be right around the corner from our reception venue! Their brunch is amazing and has something for everyone. We'd encourage you to take a walk around this area before/after eating. The Essential is on a cobblestone street and is right down from one of our light-up bridges and the "It's Nice to Have You in Birmingham" sign.
All of Mountain Brook's villages are adorable, but the main village is where you'll find the most to do. However, another favorite of ours is Crestline Village because it has Taco Mama!
For all your shopping needs! Our favorite: Trader Joe's.
The Botanical Gardens are free and absolutely gorgeous this time of year. The rose garden is a favorite.
