Newly painted white March 2024! Happily accommodating 200 guests, we have two dressing suites, a full kitchen, a dedicated ceremony room, plenty of bathrooms and air conditioning throughout. There is ample of parking for all of your guests and staff will be on site for the duration of your event. The English Country Barn offers several flexible space choices to make the wedding of your dreams come to life! Brand new for 2023 we now offer a huge covered chapel seating up to 200 guests giving you even more choice for your ceremony. In addition we have a stunning outdoor fireplace, a beautiful fountain and hand crafted outdoor bar all on our adjacent patio, the perfect spot for cocktail hour. We also boast 3 houses onsite available for wedding party or out of town guests.

There Are 15 Acres Of Lovingly Maintained Grounds Rich In History Dating Back To Before The Revolutionary War As Well As The Burial Place Of Abner Nash, Our 2nd Governor Of NC And A Member Of The Continental Congress. We're located only six minutes away from downtown Raleigh's best hotels and amenities. The Maxwell was thoughtfully designed to allow for the best possible flow for a wedding. With multiple spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception the venue perfectly houses all parts of your celebration. The romantic atmosphere is enhanced by copper gas lanterns, a 15' fireplace, herringbone oak wood accent wall, white washed brick, abundant natural light, oversized chandeliers, and soaring 18' ceilings. The venue can seat around 200 guests comfortably. The main space is a dream with beautiful white shiplap walls, gorgeous stained plank cathedral ceiling and lots of natural light. The main space is heated and cooled so you can be comfortable in any season. There is a covered porch that leads to a large flagstone patio with a white fireplace, this is a great space for rehearsal dinners or just an extension of the reception space. The bridal suite is in a separate building adjacent to the venue. Recently built in 2023, with nearly 800 sq feet you and your wedding party will have a comfortable space to enjoy the day. Finally, there is an open air chapel that can seat 200 guests comfortably. It has beautiful cathedral style windows in the front and back of the chapel and open arches on the sides. This chapel will make a great rain back up option for your wedding day or if you love it as much as we do, it can be a beautiful plan A option as well.
