I am a NY-based Harpist with over 18 years of experience. I have been fortunate enough to play for dozens of professional events and weddings along the East Coast. I have performed at many different events, from weddings to corporate Holiday parties to tea parties to retirement parties. Some of the locations I have been lucky to perform include the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and The Willard Intercontinental in Washington D.C. Most recently I was selected to be a featured musician on an episode of the Drew Barrymore show!

Our wedding harpist, Terrease Aiken, was an absolute dream come true! From the start, she was incredibly organized and timely, making the whole process seamless. Her willingness to incorporate our personal song choices into her repertoire was a beautiful and meaningful touch. Her attentiveness and responsiveness in the months leading up to the wedding were truly exceptional. On the big day, she surpassed ALL expectations!! Her performance was nothing short of magical, and our guests can't stop raving about her talent and unique style. She added a level of enchantment that made our special day truly unforgettable. We can’t speak highly enough of Dan. The last thing we wanted was a cookie-cutter DJ for our small and intimate wedding and Dan was able to deliver. I was slightly concerned about the unusual set-up of our venue (dance floor on one side of the building and dining area/bar on the other) but Dan visited the site with us beforehand to coordinate with the General Manager about how best to set up for the event. Dan was able to accommodate our drastically different tastes in music without making the playlist seem schizophrenic. We provided him with an abbreviated list of “must plays” and we were immensely pleased with how he filled in the blanks. We knew things were going great when one of our guests gushed early on that this was the best dance music she had ever heard a DJ play at a wedding. This proved to be a popular refrain, as many of our friends and family complemented us on our excellent choice of DJ. With a healthy mix of Motown, pop and contemporary hits, Dan was able to please all of our guests. What impressed us the most was the fact that the dance floor was never empty, which is remarkable given the fact that we had a relatively small wedding. We’re so glad that we chose Dan and NyWeddingDJ.net as our DJ.

The Hook Club was one of the best decisions we made for our little wedding! Dan and Adam were super responsive and attentive to our questions and requests. The planning process was a breeze, they had an organized questionnaire to collect all the songs we like. The song list provided was already extensive, and they were willing and happy to practice additional songs catered to our requests. Our bespoke quartet compose of a cello, violin, keyboard, guitar, and even a saxophone! All four members of our quartet were amazingly talented and a pleasure to have at our event, all our guests loved them! The music really set the mood for our celebration, and they even helped made announcements to according to our planned schedule. We couldn’t recommend The Hook Club enough, especially Dan and Adam who helped us throughout the whole process! Our day was made extra special because of them and that’s something we will treasure for a long time! Thank you team!!

A 16-year veteran of the NYC club scene. I collaborate closely with couples to create their unique musical experiences for themselves and their guests by delivering a Sophisticated Savoire-Faire of seamlessly blended hits from past decades to what's currently in vogue; citing T-40 Dance, House, IndiePop/Rock, Nu-Disko, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Crossover Reggae and Crossover Latin as some of my favorites.

Marcus did such amazing work for our big day! The flow of the evening from top to bottom was sheer perfection and we could not have been happier with how it all went. We ESPECIALLY cannot get over the end of the evening….when he MATCHED the clapping of the whole group and gave us that one last Hall and Oats song!! That was masterful and brilliant. We cant stop talking about it! We highly recommend Marcus for an unforgettable experience!

The Metropolitan Players are a NYC-based wedding band collective, created by a husband and wife team, with a mission to help you make musical memories. Music is tied to memory, and shouldn’t be taken lightly when planning your wedding. We want your guests to leave saying, “that was the best wedding we’ve ever been to.”

Awarded Best of Zola
THE DANCE FLOOR WAS PACKED, ALL NIGHT. The Metropolitan Players are amazing!! We’re so glad we chose them for our wedding. We worked with Mandy throughout the process, Siobhan was our day of coordinator, and the band members were all wonderful. We love live music - a band who can command the room, having as much fun on stage as the guests dancing below. They sang their hearts out, had fun horn solos, and would lock eyes with me (bride) like a concert, and we’d do the rock and roll hand sign to each other. It was SO much fun. Our guests LOVED the band. When we were gathering ourselves before our first dance, we looked at each other and said wait a second, is that OUR wedding band?! Playing our first dance song?! Do I hear horns?! They’re so good!! How lucky are we! People would come up to us and say holy cow did you hire a 30 person wedding band?! No, of course not, but they had the presence and sound that carried as if they were a much larger band. REPEAT CUSTOMERS - A bit about our process - we went to a number of showcases in NYC, where wedding bands play live, so you know what you’re getting before hiring them. We got a ton of quotes (15). We parsed through bands we’d seen at other weddings. We saw many bands who were much worse live than they were in their videos - scary when you’re booking them for one very important day! When first engaging with the Met Players, we were nervous because they don’t do any live showcases (they cost a lot of money and don’t want to pass that financial burden onto couples in final booking costs.) We thought - how can we be sure they’re great if we can’t hear them live? We went back and forth with Mandy (couple coordinator) to get comfortable. We scoured the internet and any tagged videos on YouTube and Instagram. Unlike other bands, they post unedited content, so the sound is what you’d actually hear the night of (shot on iPhone speakers). We read every review we could find on the internet. We spoke to couples who’d worked with them in the past. Ultimately, while all the research and people we spoke to did wonders to help us get comfortable, the final piece that sold us was the number of repeat customers. Many reviews were from friends or family of a couple that hired the Met Players in the past, who loved them so much that they booked them for their own. Families who’d worked with the Met Players two and three times. Everyone had great things to say so we took a leap of faith. And we are SO glad we did!! The unedited videos don’t do justice for what they sound like in person - they’re much better! END TO END A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE We can’t say enough good things about the Met Players. They’re spectacular, seem to be having as much fun as the guests, have great energy, are amazing performers, and are exceptionally organized and informative throughout the process. We asked them to learn a few new songs for us (including, importantly, our first dance song) and each one felt like they’d been playing it for years - they were that good. They paired our first dance song down to be our desired length - even better than the original! We had a guitarist play during our ceremony, acoustic and beautiful, and not two hours later were tearing up the dance floor. The dance floor was packed all night! If we were to plan our wedding again knowing what we know now, we’d choose the Met Players again, every time. We’re so grateful for everything you did to make our wedding special and feel like us. Thank you!!

We had Lucas DJ our wedding in Holbox recently. It was originally scheduled for March of 2020, but we had to cancel and move to Jan 2022. He was a true professional and so wonderful! He made himself available for our new date and didn’t even change his rate (even though he very well could have and all our other vendors did). At the wedding, he was incredible and created the most amazing vibe on the dance floor! The most common comment of the night from everyone, including myself: “I have had to pee for hours but don’t want to leave and miss a song!” He also made the most beautiful remixes of Persian dance numbers and other bangers (I am Iranian and my husband is Irish Catholic). Every single guest was on the dance floor for every single minute. On a personal note, he is also just an awesome and nice person. The best money spent for our entire wedding. I can’t recommend him enough and hope to hire him for every party we ever have!

Absolutely fantastic! Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without the incredible DJ services provided by Joe. From start to finish, he was the epitome of professionalism, guiding us through the planning process with patience and expertise. Extremely thankful for working with our super busy schedule. Kenny Fiesta

New York, NY
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,500

My goal for your event is straightforward: to create a musical atmosphere your guests will enjoy, in a tasteful way to conserve your excellent reputation. I look to do this by curating my family-friendly music library with all genres, removing instances or entire songs with profanity, vulgar descriptions, and offensive lyrics. I want you and your guests to feel comfortable for the entirety of the event, starting with the mood music that represents your style, whether you've chosen every song or have a few key picks you want me to build a playlist around.

Apart from the photographer, Kent was the best investment we made for our wedding. He made sure that our wedding felt alive and kept the guests happy with his talented mixes. We gave him full creative control because we had been to other events where he performed and never left disappointed so naturally he had to play at our most memorable event. My wife, our friends and family were having a blast! You know the party is good when grandma wants to get on the dance floor and half the party is sweaty haha If you want your wedding to be the one everyone else is talking about then Kent is your guy!

How do we coordinate our wedding timeline with the band or DJ in New York City?

Communication is key. Your band or DJ should be in sync with your wedding day schedule, hitting the right notes at the right moments.
