I find wedding ceremonies to be more than just a series of actions, people, and images to be “captured,” but rather recognizes them as events full of deep personal and cultural significance, particular to a specific time and place and community. As such, I assumes the responsibility of documenting these moments with great respect, believing them to be deserving of a discerning eye and an artistic hand.

I’m into spending all my time at a beach every chance I get, having my nose stuck in a book and if there were no biological consequences, I’d be eating chocolate and drinking tequila all day. I’m half Indian and half Chinese and multilingual (I speak Bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese). 27 years ago I called myself a photographer for the first time. I was attending photography school in Sweden and participated in my first gallery show. 2 years earlier I was visiting a friend in LA. I had him chase seagulls on the beach while I snapped away, capturing their flight. I remember that moment I decided to become a photographer. For real. I was discouraged by a job coach after high school, intending a photography eduction. “There are no jobs for photographers!” she barked at me. I took her word for it. I remembered reading an article about the same school, ICP. It had felt like a dream that could never happen to me.

I'm Tom. I am a storyteller. One of my favorite quotes is, “I have the great privilege of being both witness and storyteller. Intimacy, trust and intuition guide my work.” by Jim Goldberg. I believe the best images come from the natural moments that happen in real life. I love the laughter, tears, and all the emotions that a wedding day has to offer. It's my job to preserve these moments.

Coming from a background in fashion, I am trained to notice details. When shooting a wedding dress, for example, I care deeply about the texture of the fabric, the artful sweep, and the arc of the design, the interplay of subtle ivory-like colors. I believe finding and elevating the details allows me to tell a more connected, compelling story in my photographs. Many brides gravitate toward my photos because they are drawn to the honoring of the feminine in my work. Overall, my tone is neither light and airy, nor is it dark and moody. I prefer my images right in the middle with a blend of vibrant color and drama.

Georgi's originally from Hong Kong and is a graduate of Parsons School of Design (in Paris and New York). She has been an event, editorial and advertising photographer for 15 years. Her first professional position was managing the studio of an acclaimed Vanity Fair/Vogue/Town & Country socialite and celebrity photographer. She cut her teeth at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and assisting on exotic, high-profile Vogue shoots. Georgi has captured pivotal moments and expressive faces at parties and events from Rajasthan to Cuernavaca to Aspen.

My first foray into photography was with the press, but as the digital era arrived I felt I was not being aware of what was happening around, always looking at the camera. Having picked up film photography early in life and motivated by the polarities of interaction, I came to wedding photography with a desire to probe the limits of my couples and their families honest feelings.

Ali is an award-winning celebrity portrait and documentary photographer whose book Momma Love won two international book awards and was name checked by The New York Times (and many more). Together, they shoot as Alice in Weddingland and have shot celebrity weddings (including for Seth Meyers and Anna Wintour), destination weddings (like a 4 day non-stop party on St. Barth's) and cool Brooklyn and City Hall weddings. As a couple in life and on the job, they work together seamlessly to shoot in varied but complimentary styles.
