On most weekends you can find me, Robert ('Bobby'), photographing weddings—either in New York (where I lives) or farther a field: in various locations around the US and abroad. I find wedding ceremonies to be more than just a series of actions, people, and images to be “captured,” but rather recognizes them as events full of deep personal and cultural significance, particular to a specific time and place and community. As such, I assumes the responsibility of documenting these moments with great respect, believing them to be deserving of a discerning eye and an artistic hand.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bobby a few years ago when my sister got married. When we got engaged, he was the first vendor that we booked. Bobby is an incredibly professional and passionate photographer. His work captures every emotion of the day. What we love the most about Bobby is his calm demeanor and that he blends in with the crowd. He is really flexible and is willing to accommodate all needs. We are currently in the process of making our wedding album and it’s hard to choose the photos, as every one is better than the next. We are forever grateful to Bobby for capturing our special day.

I’m into spending all my time at a beach every chance I get, having my nose stuck in a book and if there were no biological consequences, I’d be eating chocolate and drinking tequila all day. I’m half Indian and half Chinese and multilingual (I speak Bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese). I was born and raised in Malaysia, did a little stint in Japan, attended law school and landed New York City.

Senshi feels like a good friend on your wedding day with an expensive camera - a photographer friend who actually knows what she's doing and expertly captures those sweet, little, happy moments with breathtaking photos. You'd be lucky to have her as your photographer aka memory documentarian! She not only guides you if you're uncomfortable in front of the camera, she delivers a sneak peek gallery almost right away so you can gush over all the feels of your wedding day. She's an absolute pro - personal, fun-loving, kind, and talented!

The key to our service is investing in making your wedding day experience great. With this service in mind, we can create beautiful visual storytelling that is singular for you. Our name, Ein photo , embodies that mission. Eins (pronounced [aɪ̯ns]) means one in German, so Ein Photo means one photo. One has many meanings to it, the first, the best, but we look at it as the only one. One couple, with one story, told by one series of photos.

We met with several photographers and knew we wanted Tim and his team to be our photographer after our first meeting. My husband and I both don't really like having our pictures taken and thought our engagement photoshoot session was going to be filled with uncomfortable awkward poses and smiles. We were so wrong! Tim made us feel comfortable and easily directed us when needed. It ended up being a really fun hour and we loved how natural we looked in all of our pictures! For our wedding, Tim and his team arrived on time and captured all of our key moments. They were so efficient and easy to work with the entire day (and throughout this entire process)! I wasn't stressed at all and we LOVE how all of our pictures came out! Thank you SOO much Tim and Joseph! Ein Photography is the BEST and a must for your wedding day!!

  • Starts at $3,000

I’m Alyssa! My job is to capture the intimacy and beauty of love in all its forms, which basically means it's the coolest job. Telling real stories in beautiful ways is my jam! That is how I became a wedding and portrait photographer. I also happen to be a lover of both dogs and baked goods and I love to see the world. As an artist, I am drawn to rich, bold images. I love to play with light, and moreover I love to play, period. I catch your most captivating and authentic images by working from a place of joy and genuine happiness in what I do.

Running a historic site with acres of gardens often makes you nervous that a vendor will come in and trample on flowers or not respect the property. Enter Alyssa...she could not be more professional and respectful of our site. That aside, she is an AMAZING photographer. I love to showcase her photos on our site, social media, you name it. She captures so much emotion on wedding day and her editing style is true to color, which is super important when showing photos to potential couples. Her photos make you almost feel like you were there. I couldn't recommend her more!

Melani Lust Photography

My work is a delicate dance between photojournalistic candor and artistic sophistication. Each detail and movement is intentional and calculated. Having documented over 300 weddings in the past 13 years, I anticipate the moment, and know where I need to be to capture it in a stylish, yet unguarded way. I care about your memories as much as I care about the experience you get while working with me and I know when to be invisible and when to take a directing role.

We’ve worked with Melani Lust Photography, many times. She’s incredibly organized, conscientious on a wedding and caring. She’s always a step or two ahead to make sure all your photos are captured the best that they can be. Highly recommended!

Entwined Studio was created with my husband Matt ten years ago as a total labor of love. After producing indie movies, commercials and tv shows in NYC I realized that what I really loved doing was setting up shots and creating beautiful frames to tell stories. Weddings are a perfect fit. I love capturing the beauty of my couples and am lucky to call so many of my past clients friends. Shooting your wedding is more than just taking pictures on the day, it's connection, and it's one of the things I love most. So let's connect soon.

Angie made taking photos so easy and fun. I loved the amount of direction she gave us, telling me where to put my chin and making sure everyone in the photos looked their best. Many guests commented what a great job she did as well. Angie is so so lovely.

I'm Kari, and I'm obsessed with real emotions. I've been a photographer since 2007 and I still get all gooey inside when I see a couple laughing together, crying together, or living out dreams together. I only accept 12 wedding commissions a year so I can give each couple the attention you deserve. I'm based in New York, but I'm never opposed to traveling far and wide for a gorgeous wedding! Get in touch to see if I'm available for your wedding and to see if we're a good fit for each other!

Kari and Caleb were such a pleasure to work with! I cannot say enough good things about them. Personality-wise, they were a great presence to have around on our wedding day - fun, personable, professional, relaxed, and looking out for my husband and me the entire time. Photography-wise, I am even more impressed. Kari and Caleb expertly guided us through our first look and couples session before the wedding. They found amazing locations to shoot in, helped us pose, and kept track of the time to make sure we got where we needed to be. During the ceremony and reception, they were incredibly dynamic. When I saw the photos, I couldn't believe they were able to capture so much of the night from so many angles. The images are STUNNING. They are fun, unique, candid, expertly shot and edited, and I love them all so much. I would work with Kari and Caleb again in a heartbeat.

Sean Gallery Photography

As a passionate and experienced photographer, I have had the pleasure of photographing weddings of all styles and sizes, from bohemian elopements to grand, luxurious affairs. My unique photographic style blends natural light, creative composition, and a focus on capturing the most candid and emotional moments of your wedding day. I believe every couple has a unique story to tell, and I'm dedicated to creating stunning and timeless images that reflect your personalities and love for each other. Let's work together to make your wedding photography dreams a reality!"

Sean is an exceptional wedding photographer! My husband and I hired him for our June 2023 wedding and were absolutely blown away by his talent and professionalism. We used him for our engagement photos and for our wedding day, and could not have been happier with the outcomes. He captured all of the emotions of the day and I know we will cherish his photos for a lifetime. Two things that set Sean apart from other photographers, in my opinion: 1.) he is literally the kindest guy. My husband and I felt so at ease around him, something that I think is critical for your wedding. And, 2.) he is the master of photojournalism. The last thing I wanted on my wedding was to have to spend it all cheesing and posing in front of a camera. Of course, we did the family photos before the ceremony, but from then on out, Sean blended in with the whole event and captured all of the big and little moments flawlessly. It was so much fun going through all the candid moments Sean captured and reliving the night again once we got our photos back (he also got all of our photos back to us SO quickly). We wholeheartedly would recommend Sean to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. He truly is the best!

Hi! I’m Grace Taylor: New Yorker who lived in Charleston, SC during the pandemic. As you can tell through my photography, I love to travel and would be willing to travel for you! With that said, all my pricing has travel costs baked into it. Fun fact: I've traveled to 15 countries in the last 5 years. If you’re in a any of my “bucket-list” locations, you get an additional 20% off. Additional queries about pricing and availability, shoot me an email! * If you're interested, please inquire through my website *

Grace is incredible and a photo miracle worker! I had been in the hospital the day before and my fiancé had been up most of the night working. We still went to our engagement session as scheduled and I had more or less written it off since the two of us were struggling to stand up straight, let alone pose for photos that day! Yet somehow Grace got amazing shots of us! So happy with the results, not to mention Grace is a pleasure to work with. Thanks Grace!

Stephanie Sunderland Photography

New York, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,500

Fine art film destination wedding photographer based in New York City. Capturing weddings in a timeless, romantic, and natural style. Photographing all weddings from small intimate elopements to large estate weddings.

My husband and I got married at The Vineyards at Aquebogue in September 2019. Our venue, being located on an actual vineyard, was breathtaking and we wanted to make sure the whole vibe of the venue was captured in our pictures. I am REALLY into capturing moments with photos, so I was ready to splurge on a great photographer. I came across Stephanie's instagram page after looking at the posts from my venues instagram page and seeing who shot there. I immediately fell in love with her style. I was looking for something organic, bright, whimsical. We set up our phone call, she went over her style and pricing, and I booked her right after that! During the whole process she was fantastic! Extremely communicative and professional. My husband and I met up with her once prior to our wedding just so she could meet us, understand our story and what we were looking for day of. On our actual wedding day, Stephanie killed it. She is a photographer that does not care about telling people where to go or what position to be in, which I appreciate it! Time is CRUCIAL during your wedding day and you want things to be moving at the right pace. She even stayed a bit later so we could get some big family shots. She also adds a special touch -- when we booked her, she sent us a letter in the mail thanking us with a notebook and some chocolates. Then when she sent us our USB drive with all of our pictures, she also sent a nice note with some chocolates. Those little things go such a long way. She is also fair -- we did not need an engagement shoot, so she ended up giving us an extra hour for our wedding day and we got a deal on our photo album when purchasing it through her. I would HIGHLY recommend Stephanie and hope to use her again for another family shoot in the next upcoming years.

Joanna Toto

5.0

New York, NY
  • Fine art style

Inspired by the likes of Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton whose works she inhaled early on, Joanna likes to blend traditional imagery with unexpected compositions and negative space, adding her personal, fashion-forward flair to the documentary nature of event photography. After many years of directing models, she is an expert at gently guiding couples on their wedding day, encouraging natural connections and documenting the results. Passed through the anvil of anxiety and adrenaline that is Fashion, Joanna's personality turned out easy-going and her calm presence conceals an ever watchful artistic eye.

Joanna is an incredibly kind person and a fantastic photographer. Not only are her photographs outstanding, but she also is a true pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable with her right from the start of our engagement shoot through our wedding reception. She is very generous of her time and was actively involved in the post-wedding process of helping us choose photos for our album (which was difficult because there were so many great ones!). We cannot recommend her more highly!

Dave has photographed the weddings of notables like Christina Hendricks, Ellie Kemper and Piper Perabo, who sought him out for his one-of-a-kind brand of visual storytelling. Renowned for unique ability in finding beautiful nuance, Dave is one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the world. Passionate about his craft yet relaxed in his approach, Dave prides himself in his innate ability to put clients at ease. "When a subject is totally comfortable, they feel free to be themselves. What results from this is the beauty of authenticity".

Dave Robbins is an excellent photographer and, more importantly, an absolute pleasure to work with. We wanted to take photos walking around New York City, and even though it was raining, Dave was a total champ about it and took amazing pictures. We were also looking for a photographer whose photos weren't muted and instead "popped," and this was definitely the case with Dave's pictures. Dave also captured our joy and spirit on such a happy day, and we had so much fun working with him. We couldn't recommend Dave highly enough.

Drawing inspiration from films, photojournalism, and fine art— my work is best described as cinematic and timeless. From photographing small to large weddings, intimate elopements, to covering the Tony Awards— I've learned that every wedding & event is important and unique. My approach as a photographer is to not only create images that feel honest and interesting, but to document a story— while subtly being in the background. Capturing moments you were in the middle of, and moments that you probably never even saw— so that one day when you look back on these images years from now, you'll be reminded of what that day was.

Working with Justin was a dream. When we were planning our wedding, we knew that photography was one of the most important aspects for us, and we wanted to make sure we worked with someone that understood our desire of editorial looking photos versus those cheesy posed wedding photos we often see. We found Justin's work on Instagram and immediately reached out to work together. His pricing was super reasonable especially for the NYC area, and we were so comfortable with him the moment we met him for our engagement shoot. We weren't comfortable in front of the camera but he did such an amazing job at pulling our personalities and our story out so that it translated into the most beautiful photos. One of our photos on the subway was even featured on Zola's Instagram! Justin ended up becoming a friend after we worked with him and we received so many compliments on how beautiful both our engagement and wedding photos are. He delivered the photos so quickly and it was clear that he was personally invested in our love story. We can't recommend Justin enough - he is truly the best photographer and you will be able to relive your big day in the best, most beautiful way with his photos.

Bonnie Gillis is an NYC-based photographer specializing in weddings, portraits, and branding campaigns for luxury brands and boutique hotels. Bonnie honed her skills at Columbia University and the International Center of Photography, and approaches her craft with an eye to storytelling and memory-making. Her elegant style captures the essence of a celebration, allowing couples to revisit the aura of their special day long after the final dance of the night has ended.

Bonnie made us, both typically camera shy, feel extremely comfortable. Before the shoot, she helped us choose our outfits by sending us a helpful wardrobe guide and location guide. She made the process easy by having a plan for each location we shot and giving direction when we needed it. She boosted our confidence and made us feel at ease throughout, which made us loosen up and resulted in great images. So happy we chose Bonnie for our engagement photos!

From the very first email Marta was extremely responsive and easy to work with, one of the areas I suggested was under construction so she offered alternatives and we loved how they turned out. Something to note - we are moving to the city but traveled in from out of town, the communication and groundwork she did made the whole process seamless & I highly recommend working with Marta if you're coming in from out of town. The day of the shoot she was on time, and so much fun to hang out with, she made it an easy hour for both of us. We got our pictures back before the deadline she set, and could not be happier. We'll definitely book with her again next year!

If you're searching for a photographer who will make you feel comfortable, cool, and let you thrive as your true selves, hello, you've come to the right place! I genuinely want to forge a connection, hang with you, and earn your trust. I'll capture everything, and I'll be there for you whether you need a safety pin or someone to wipe away your tears.

Where do I even start?! Our journey with Sydney began 3 years ago when we fell in love with her style and video chatted with her before hiring her to take our engagement photos. From the very beginning, Sydney felt like a good friend, made us feel totally comfortable, and had amazing ideas for great photos. We were above and beyond happy with our photos and couldn't wait for her to shoot our wedding. Our wedding day finally came around and OH. MY. GOD. Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful our photos are! She knew exactly what I liked and somehow managed to capture all the little details and ALL THE LOVE perfectly! I've had multiple people tell me that her photos are the best they've ever seen! Every single one! There weren't just some good photos, they were ALL good! Sydney is very communicative, open to changes, easily reachable, and will work hard to make you happy! Thank you so much for allowing us to relive our perfect day! <3

Our photography style blends natural fine art portraiture with the fashionable elegance of photojournalism. Matching our clients’ needs and desires, as well as exceeding their expectations are our main objectives.

Natural Expressions NY did an amazing job - we had the best experience working with Frank and Telmo for photography, and Alex for videography!! My now husband and I knew we wanted to work with Natural Expressions NY for our wedding because they captured my sister and brother in law’s wedding in 2015 so beautifully!! We worked with Frank leading up to the wedding, including creating our schedule for the day of. And trust me, I wasn’t easy - I had three separate first looks (with my dad, my bridesmaids and then of course my groom!). Frank and Telmo were our day of photographers and made sure everything ran smoothly and that we stayed on schedule! Frank and Telmo were also extremely fun to work with on our wedding day, and we felt so comfortable with them! The shots were so fun and creative, yet classic! The whole team is extremely responsive before and after the wedding, and very easy to work with as well. The photos are absolutely stunning and we are so happy with the finished product! I was so elated to receive our beautiful, extremely high quality wedding photos and video - definitely shed many happy tears reliving our day! We love Natural Expressions NY!!

27 years ago I called myself a photographer for the first time. I was attending photography school in Sweden and participated in my first gallery show. 2 years earlier I was visiting a friend in LA. I had him chase seagulls on the beach while I snapped away, capturing their flight. I remember that moment I decided to become a photographer. For real. I was discouraged by a job coach after high school, intending a photography eduction. “There are no jobs for photographers!” she barked at me. I took her word for it. I remembered reading an article about the same school, ICP. It had felt like a dream that could never happen to me.

I believe photography is a snapshot of life, where a feeling is captured and magically stored in a timeless memory, a memory that can bring you back to that same instant, the excitement of a moment and cherish the tangible feeling of a photograph. I was born in Ecuador where I spent my childhood surrounded by the unconditional love of my abuelita, she now resides in heaven. I was always independent and silly in front of a camera. I wasn’t too much into playing with a camera and preferred to play in the garden, running around, catching butterflies and always excited to find a ladybug, aren’t they so pretty?

Coming from a background in fashion, I am trained to notice details. When shooting a wedding dress, for example, I care deeply about the texture of the fabric, the artful sweep, and the arc of the design, the interplay of subtle ivory-like colors. I believe finding and elevating the details allows me to tell a more connected, compelling story in my photographs. Many brides gravitate toward my photos because they are drawn to the honoring of the feminine in my work. Overall, my tone is neither light and airy, nor is it dark and moody. I prefer my images right in the middle with a blend of vibrant color and drama.

Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.

Marilyn was the photographer for our NYC City Hall ceremony in June 2022. We had the most incredible experience with her! Before we met, she worked with us to decide on the right package and our vision for the photos. On the day, Marilyn was super helpful with the City Hall procedures and knowing what to expect. She is so friendly & her energy is amazing!! She helped us feel so at ease. My husband & I are not at all comfortable in front of a camera, but we felt super relaxed and confident thanks to Marilyn. It was evident in how the photos turned out as well. They were so incredible. We received our sneak peek within just a few days, and all of the photos within three weeks. We can't recommend her enough!!

Hey there, my name is Bailey! I am an artist, business woman, wifey, nerd, Brooklyn-ite, and matcha fiend who’s endlessly curious about the world around me. I strive to make the world better by capturing love authentically, spreading positivity & happiness, and supporting organizations that are doing the work to preserve our planet & enrich the lives of marginalized communities. With my whole heart, I unapologetically embrace inclusivity & all forms of love.

If you are looking for a photographer to perfectly capture your wedding day, you’ve found the one! Book Bailey right now, because she is the real deal. Her photos are beautiful and working with Bailey was such a warm, joyful experience. She captured our love and community (and our show-stealer of a dog) so perfectly. Bailey’s pre-wedding meetings with us as a couple were so helpful – she has so much great advice from her experience as a wedding photographer and was even able to help us craft a timeline for our big day that helped us make sure we had time to do everything and got all those special moments captured. We could not be happier with our choice to book Bailey for our queer brewery wedding in Boston and are absolutely obsessed with how these photos turned out.

About wedding photographers in New York, NY

How much does a wedding photographer typically cost in New York, NY?

A New York, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000. The cost reflects the number of hours included, if there is a second photographer, any prints or albums, and, most importantly, the experience of the photographer. But every snapshot they take is a priceless memory of your big day — way better than your bestie's blurry smartphone pics, right?

Do most photographers include a second photographer?

94% of photographers in New York, NY offer a second photographer, although it typically depends on the package you book! Second photographers are helpful because one person can’t be everywhere at once, and the second photographer ensures all the details are covered.

Which are the most popular photographers in New York, NY?

Some of the most popular photographers in this area include The Pros Weddings, SweetEmms Photography and Ashley Cynthia Photography.

What else should I keep in mind when booking a wedding photographer?

Are you interested in an engagement shoot as a test run? Drone photography? Wedding albums? All helpful things to ask about when you’re considering which wedding photographer to book!

What questions should I ask a wedding photographer in NYC?

It can be hard to know exactly what you should be looking for when you’re first exploring wedding photographers. You might want to ask questions like, "How do you capture the essence of 'us'?" or "How do you balance capturing our must have shot list without missing out on unexpected candid moments?" Don't forget the nitty-gritty, either. Inquire about their portfolio, if they've shot at your venue before, and how they navigate New York City’s unpredictable elements (because who hasn't seen a taxi photobomb?). Check out our full list of questions to ask your wedding photographer for even more info.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos in NYC?

Picture this: you've said your vows, had the time of your life at the reception, and now you're back from your honeymoon, eager to relive it all through your photos. But you might need to wait a minute, because good things take time! Most NYC wedding photographers will ask for a 4 to 8-week grace period to finalize your photos. They're carefully sifting through the raw emotions and dance-floor shenanigans to deliver a gallery that's as epic as your love story. We know how eager you are to relive those moments, but your stunning snaps will be worth the wait.

How many images are typically included in a wedding photo package?

Wedding photo packages in NYC are as varied as the city itself, but on average, you might see anything from 300 to 700 finished photos. But hey, it’s not just about quantity, it’s the heart-stopping, tear-jerking quality that counts. Make sure to chat with your photographer about what's important to you – maybe it's those candid laughs during the toast or that magical first dance. So, whether you’re aiming for a minimalist album or an epic visual novella of your day, rest assured you'll have enough photos to keep your memories fresh and your heart full!

Are engagement sessions typically included in wedding photography packages in New York City?

Looking for a photographer to capture the excitement of your engagement, too? Look no further. Many New York wedding photographers bundle engagement photo sessionsinto your wedding package, or will add them on at a reduced rate. It's like a romantic pre-game show where you and your SO can get over some of the camera-shyness. Plus, it's a fantastic way to test the waters with your photographer before the big day so you can make sure they’re a perfect fit (and to capture some great shots for your save the dates!).
