The site of our first date!
Wolf's Ridge is one of our favorite Columbus breweries. Skip the formal restaurant up front and check out the tap room in back for superb (and absorbent) gastropub food and an incredible draft list.
Pick up some locally roasted coffee, a box of handmade candies, and see where Regina spends her work week. PS – the patio is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or a mimosa!
Pick up an artisan-crafted memento of your time in Columbus at Helen Winnemore's! This unique shop is over 80 years old and has a perfectly curated collection of functional pottery, jewelry, greeting cards and other lovely finds.
Treat yourself at what we consider to be the best restaurant in Columbus. Pro Tip: order a side of fries with your cocktail! It's just like the secret menu at In-N-Out, except ten times as expensive!
Another breakfast/lunch option if you're exploring the Short North!
This greasy spoon is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch. Get there early – it can fill up fast! Fox in the Snow and Valter's are other fantastic breakfast/brunch options in the historic German Village, and have the added advantage of not making your clothes smell like a grease fire the rest of the day. So why didn't we feature them instead? Who knows!
The North Market has lots of great local food options including Jeni's Ice Cream, Hot Chicken Takeover, and Momo Ghar. Heads up: it can get busy as hell when there are convention center events across the street, especially cheer competitions. So be aggressive. B-E aggressive!
Stroll through the historic German Village (careful on the bricks!) and get lost in the Book Loft.
The Wex is our go-to spot for contemporary art, traveling exhibitions, special film screenings and concerts. This part of High Street is on Ohio State's campus, and it's also a nice stretch to walk around if you prefer outdoor adventures.
Check out the state fair! See the Butter Cow, ride the Skyline, and enjoy a lemon shake up. It's more hypertension than you can shake a stick at. (And you definitely shouldn't shake any sticks at the fair unless you want your fried foodstuff to go flying.)
