How We Met

June 2014: It Goes Down in the DMs

Believe it or not, Terrence and Madi met five years ago on Instagram! Terrence first reached out to Madi for tips on his new transfer to NC A&T, and thought she could help him out on the new journey. Little did Madi know, Terrence had plenty of history with A&T, dating back years ago as a little boy at Homecoming. Nonetheless, the two began as friends spending many summer days on phone calls and sending messages. Eventually they realized their feelings were mutual, to be much more than friends. Now, after many sleepless study nights, countless library dates, and a few spring break trips, they have shared many memories together. All these moments have lead to their upcoming wedding, and they look forward to starting this new chapter with their closest family and friends!

The Proposal

November 2018: "Can we go to the Space Needle?"

Every year Terrence and Madi take a vacation to see a new part of the world. Last year's trip included Seattle to go see what Terrence has always wanted to see - the Space Needle! After a long day of touring the city, Terrence suggested ending the day at his favorite spot in time for the sunset. Unfortunately for them, the space needle was closed for the day, but locals suggested an even better place with breathtaking views, the Sky View Observatory. Upon arriving, Terrence was ready to take pictures next to the beautiful skyline with the sunset. He surprised an innocent bystander by asking her to take pictures, and on the second try, he got down on one knee! Uncharacteristically speechless, Madi could only get out the words "Shut up!" followed by a resounding "YES!"
