There are several parking lots at the John Ball Zoo if you would like to drive. Parking is free. Please note that the zoo will be open to the public until 6pm so there will be others on the premises while you park and make your way up to the venue. Rideshare services such as Lyft and Uber are also available. Please consider using these services if you plan on drinking. Once you arrive, please towards the main entrance of the zoo and staff should be able to guide you a shuttle which will take you up to the Bissell Tree House venue. **Normally you would take the funicular up to the venue but it is currently under repair so we will have 2 shuttles taking guests up to the venue and back to the parking lot.
The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire.
We kindly request an adults only wedding celebration.
September in Grand Rapids is lovely! Expect temperatures in the mid-seventies during the day with lows in the mid-fifties at night. Our ceremony will take place outside of the Treehouse on the covered deck, protected from the elements, and the reception will be inside.
The ceremony will begin at 5pm sharp. We recommend arriving between 4:30-4:45 so you have enough time to ride the funicular up to the venue.
No, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. We have invested in a wonderful wedding photographer who will be with us to document the entire ceremony. Feel free to take pictures with the bride and groom during the reception!
No. Our venue is a smoke-free environment.
Please submit your RSVP using our wedding website by August 11, 2023.
