Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know by May 31st, 2023.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

Hotel Darby is a ~2.5 hour drive from NYC. We're sorry! If flying in - the Scranton airport is 1 hour away, and JFK, Laguardia, Newark, and Albany are all 2-2.5 hours away. Rental cars from the airport are typically cheaper than renting in NYC. Hotel Darby is technically located just across the river/state lines in Pennsylvania. The town of Narrowsburg, NY is just over a bridge on the NY side. Let us know if you want help pairing up travel companions to carpool from NYC. The hotel has plenty of onsite parking.

Question

How do I book the hotel?

Answer

Hotel Darby will be closed to the public for the weekend, so please book using our code, "Sara&Elliot". To view rooms and rates, go through the "Reserve" link on their website and enter the dates and code. The code is case sensitive and must be entered in order to book. There is a 2-night minimum on rooms, and rooms will be listed as sold out if they're already taken. You do not need to select the river trip from the "add on" menu at booking, we'll take care of that! The only add-on to select would be if you're bringing a furry friend. Please note, we are at full hotel capacity for the weekend, so the sooner you can share your plans the better. If you have any questions or concerns about rooming, just let us know! If you're looking for something a little different, the town of Narrowsburg, NY has lots of cute AirBnBs that are a short walk or drive from the property.

Question

What time should I arrive on Friday?

Answer

Rooms will be ready after 3pm, but you're welcome to come hang out sooner. We'll be at the hotel all day. There is a 2-night hold on all the rooms. If you don't think you can arrive until Saturday, just let us know.

Question

Dress code?

Answer

The whole weekend will be pretty casual! Saturday evening dinner = festive attire. Sara will be wearing something white adjacent, Elliot will be probably be wearing a button down & khaki pants.

Question

Wait, what's the deal with the river trip?

Answer

We've booked a Saturday trip on river with nearby Landers River Trips. This it totally optional - if it doesn't sound fun, there's plenty of other things to do at the hotel or in Narrowsburg. If you'd like to join, please note in your RSVP how many are coming and what kind of vessel you'd like. We'll take care of the rest. The details: - 5 mile trip (which will take 3-4 leisurely hours) - Predominately flat, lazy river - Departs from Narrowsburg (4 min drive from Hotel Darby) - Finishes at TMR Landing, where the company will pick us up in a rickety old bus and bring us back to the start - Single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and rafts are all available - We'll provide lunch things to take with us

Question

What if I don't want to go out on the river?

Answer

If water is not your speed, there's plenty else to do - Hotel Darby has a lovely network of hiking trails to explore, and the town of Narrowsburg is just across the bridge. You can also stay on property and relax in the hammock grove or play some lawn games.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to the limited lodgings, we ask that the weekend be adults only. That said, if the options are we get to see you + your fam or we don't see you at all, we pick everyone! Let us know and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Question

What about dogs?

Answer

Hotel Darby is dog friendly! There is an extra fee due at booking and a few hotel rules - more details here: https://www.hoteldarby.com/rooms Elliot's parents are bringing Zeke, don't let him be lonely.
