My creative journey began when I spent a decade touring the country with my indie rock band, The Booda Velvets. While on tour I was always taking photos with my dad’s old Pentax film camera and a Polaroid SX70. During this time, my passion for documentary style photography was born and after touring I traded the guitar for the camera and haven’t looked back.

The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. Jon is best known for his live work as a drummer for Grammy winner Jack Antonoff in the bands Steel Train and Bleachers. I am a native New Yorker and have built a career over the past 26 years as a wedding and special event makeup artist. My first job as a makeup artist with the Laura Geller Makeup Studio catapulted my career. Under Laura’s extensive training and mentoring, I ascended the ranks to become one of her most-requested makeup artists for studio clientele, makeup lessons, weddings, and special events. In 2003 I formed my own makeup business, Anabelle LaGuardia Makeup Artistry to provide reliable on-location makeup concierge services to brides and clients in NYC, the Tri-State area, and destinations beyond.

We are event architects and have been producing events worldwide since 2003 with offices in New York and California. My name is Chief and I'm the founder of Chief the Creator. This business came about from my passion for shooting and capturing stunning imagery. I started out with photography but soon found a stronger passion for videography. First the cozy front bar room with capacity of 30 seats. and the back dining room in covered glasshouse with capacity of 30 guests sit down or 45 standing cocktails. You can either buy out both spaces and use the front bar room as a welcome area, or choose to have only the back garden to yourself. We offer customizable menu option. As my Instagram bio says, I'm a country girl by birth, a city girl by choice and a photographer by obsession. I grew up on a farm in a small Midwestern town, but have lived in New York City for over 25 years. As a photographer I say I'm self-taught, but in reality I've had the benefit of amazing mentors and teachers along the way who helped me elevate my work and pursue joy along with results. When not making photos or hanging out with my husband and kids, you can find me with a book in hand or listening to music while indulging my love of textiles at my sewing machine (yes, I really own a sewing machine)!
