Our love story began in 2018 while we were both attending Iowa State University. What started with endless conversations over winter break quickly turned into something undeniable — we just knew we had found something rare. After only a couple of hours talking, it already felt like we had known each other forever. When Jake returned early from break for hockey, we finally had our first date — dinner and a hockey game. By the end of the night, we both realized we had met the love of our lives. Since then, our journey together has taken us from Iowa, Colorado, Texas, and now Illinois. Through every move, adventure, and milestone, our connection has only grown stronger, proving time and time again that we were meant to navigate life side by side. On September 13, 2025, Jake proposed in downtown Des Moines, a place full of our favorite memories. It was the perfect beginning to forever! Later, we reminisced the two mourning doves Katie saw on her parents’ deck that morning, almost as if the universe was acknowledging what we knew from the beginning, that we were always destined for each other. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with the people we love most and to start our next season of life as husband and wife!
