Our Story

#LoveBurrs #holdmyBurr

Sally and I grew up in South Carolina a mere two and a half hours apart. I was raised in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sally in Sumter, SC. Ironically, my mother, Melody, lived a very similar childhood as Sally! She attended the same high school (Sumter High School), and the same dance studio (Miss Libby's School of Dance). When my mom saw that Miss Libby's had opened a branch of their studio in Myrtle Beach, she knew my sister Katie and I had to take dance there! Sally and I never met during those Miss Libby's years, and the Myrtle Beach branch closed when I was only twelve years old. Fast forward eight years to when Sally and I met in New York City. On our first date, I asked Sally to meet me on the A-express train. We attended a show later that evening. When Sally got on the subway, it was rush hour and so crowded that I couldn't get close enough to talk to her. Since we were separated by nearly 20 feet and couldn't talk, the situation became rather awkward. Sally began to act like she was on her phone to alleviate her nerves but I knew there was no cell service underground in the NYC subway. Ten minutes later when the subway doors opened and people began to exit the car, I approached Sally. Nearly six years after that, I proposed on the same A-express train where we met. I always say I had to go to New York City to find my southern girl! We couldn't be more excited to get married on our sixth dating anniversary, 10/10/2020. Here's to riding this crazy train together called life!
