Tiscornia Park
Take a walk along the pier and boardwalk that Grant took Ashley where he proposed. Nothing beats digging your toes into the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, and coming up close and personal with the red-roofed St. Joseph lighthouse. Be sure to take a picture and hashtag it #SlackTieEvent!
Lake Michigan Wine Trail
For those traveling to Southwest Michigan for the first time, welcome to Wine Country! Ashley was in the wine industry for over four years, and the vineyards in this corner of the state are near and dear to her heart. If you're looking for something to do this weekend to pass the time, check out a winery or two. One in particular would be Ashley's past employment -- Dablon Vineyards at 111 W. Shawnee Road, Baroda, Michigan 49101 -- it is breathtaking! (But there are 20 others to choose from in the area as well...)
Silver Beach Center & Carousel
Did you know Silver Beach used to be an amusement park? St. Joseph has such a rich and entertaining history! Head down to the Silver Beach Center to not only get a glimpse of our town's past, but also take a ride on a remake of the famous carousel which once stood on the sandy beach. Then take a walk along the beach, river, or Downtown St. Joseph. There is so much to explore in our little area!
Mason Jar Cafe
On their first outing, Ashley took Grant to her favorite breakfast restaurant: Mason Jar. We highly recommend venturing here also, but be sure to go early enough to have an appetite if you go prior to the wedding, because you'll want to eat the entire the menu! The banana oat pancakes and zucchini bread waffles are your couple's favorites. Helpful Hint: This place is a hot spot in the summer, so have someone in your party download the "NoWait" app on their SmartPhone and get in line to minimize your wait time also.
St. Joseph Today
Every weekend in St. Joseph offers some sort of festival or celebration. Be it the weekly Farmer's Market, Antiques on the Bluff, or an annual festival held downtown, St. Joseph Today is our local hub of news.
