It started with a 'swipe right' on Hinge, followed by mutual friends encouraging the two of us to actually meet one another. What was supposed to be just a Sunday dinner date in Boston, extended into a post-dinner walk around Harvard Square, which then extended into getting ice cream in Davis Square (in February no less), which then extended that same evening yet again into a late-night movie at the theater. We've been extending our time together ever since :)
Boston served as the backdrop for where we started building a life together, as well as where we pursued our professional careers after Boston University. We’ve shared countless adventures together between running the New York City Marathon side by side, sweating it out in SolidCore classes, seeking out our next sweet treat, or spending nights in binging reality TV and cheering on our favorite Formula 1 drivers. We've loved spending time together, exploring new food spots (we have an approved list), and joyfully laughing through it all with lots of inside jokes. After navigating the challenges of a global pandemic and quarantining together in Jacksonville, we formally moved in together in Somerville, MA. And after 5 years together in Boston, we embraced our new adventure and moved to Nashville! Our love of exploring has taken us across the globe, with unforgettable trips to Australia, Iceland, France, Portugal, Slovenia, and beyond — and we can’t wait for all that’s still ahead. Most of all, we have cherished the time spent with our family and friends, and we’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
In February 2024, I recommended that Remy and I look at engagement rings together during a trip to Nashville at a jewelry store she liked. I suggested it "just to be proactive, so I knew what Remy liked for the future." Uncharacteristically, Remy believed me... I bought the ring two days later. Two months later (after getting Remy's parents' blessings of course), while visiting my family in Los Angeles, I proposed to Remy in Palos Verdes at our favorite picnic spot, overlooking the ocean on a beautiful sunny day. After a few "oh my gods" and "are you serious," Remy emphatically said YES! Afterwards, we stayed at Terranea Resort and continued celebrating with our families.
