She was a mermaid. He was a mythological creature hunter. T'was forbidden love at first sight. We met at our good friend's Halloween party, both of us dressed to the nines in our totally not last minute costumes. (Lauren would like to note that her costume was not last minute.) Our first real date was shortly after, at the Musée Mécanique in San Francisco where we played vintage arcade games and strolled along the wharf.
One of our favorite places to visit is the place that Rob proposed, and the place we will be married - Petaluma, CA. During a weekend getaway, after eating at our favorite restaurants and seeing the sights, we went on a hike in Helen Putnam regional park near where we were staying, and at the top of the hill, Rob dropped to one knee and totally forgot what he had spent the last several weeks memorizing - and asked Lauren to marry him. She said yes, obviously.
