Married At Last

A model and a welder walk into a bar.... yup that's us, I bet you're wondering how we ended up in this situation. On a warm spring evening in 2014 Olivia's two best friends drove her to Vivace to go out on a date with a tinder stranger named Kevin. Based on Kevin's profile, he was a welder that lived on a farm with a nice body. Sold. Kevin was also driven to Vivace by his best friend that evening to meet a tinder stranger named Olivia, who, based on her profile, was too good to be true, likely a toothless creepy old man behind a phone, or possibly the closest thing to Xena warrior princess he was ever going to get his hands on, certainly worth finding out. She walked into the bar in a bright orange dress and six inch heels soaking wet from rain, Kevin waiting at the bar in khakis and a pink striped button down, did a blatantly obvious double take, for there she was in the flesh. Not realizing this woman would be with him for the rest of his life, and she not realizing the same. They proceed to the table, both sweating. Now, at the time Olivia was freshly 19 and supposed to be at a sleepover with her two friends, that are now at the restaurant watching the pair from three tables away in case of you know...murder. When Kevin ordered meatballs and a bottle of wine to share, the waitress was trusting enough in Olivia's height alone to not to card her. Gods plan is mysterious. The date carries on successfully, it carries on successfully for 5 hours. She's from Boston, he's from Charlotte, she just moved home from Paris, he played lacrosse in Rhode island, no way! She has cousins from there, have you seen summer heights high? RENGA they joust in unison, do you like cartoons? They're her favorite, especially Futurama. Kevin should we get more meatballs they only gave us four? Do you smoke? smoke what? they laugh. Do you like cats? And everything else! We've eaten 16 meatballs and a bottle of wine I think they're about to close.... what are you doing tomorrow? (or for the rest of your life or whatever.) Two very unsuspecting characters became inseparable that night over Italian food and novelty interests. Kevin also got to go home and report that Olivia was in fact very real. We spent the following nights of summer enjoying the city, partying with friends, and Olivia was included on the first of many legendary Hilton Head trips. As a couple, at 19 and 22 years old we had a lot of life and lessons ahead of us, but doing them together hell or highwater seemed the natural option, so we did, and we have for the past decade. As a couple at 31 and 34 the idea of life without one another seemed comparable to losing your most important limb. So Kevin got Bubby's ring out and made the official offer on July 3rd 2025 in the pool at Sullivans island. Every year for the rest of our lives we'll have our two favorite things to celebrate, us and this glorious constitutional republic we love and live for America. It has been 12 wild whole years since that faithful night in 2014 and even with all of our downs we always found our way back to up, with all of our ups, we've been blessed to have them as a team. We are thrilled to finally be getting married! So thank you all for joining us in celebrating this major milestone to kick off our next 60 years, hopefully they will be just as much fun and way way less ....insane lol.
