Our story started at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) in January 2020. We met through mutual friends at The Swamp Restaurant during a typical 2 p.m. happy hour because that’s where all good stories start, right? Nolan immediately had a crush on Katie but never quite found the right time, or the right words, to make a move. Before he got the chance, COVID interrupted his plans and sent everyone home from school not too long after. When we finally made it back to the University of Florida in the fall of 2020, we were lucky enough to run into each other again in Midtown, outside Salty Dog Saloon. Our first date at SweetBerries lasted three hours, and from that moment on, we were pretty much inseparable. Over the next few months, we packed in hometown visits, job applications, final sorority date functions, graduations, and plenty of memories in Gainesville. After Katie graduated and moved to Atlanta, we spent the next year dating long distance. Fortunately, Nolan’s post-grad job brought him to Atlanta the following year, and we picked up right where we left off. Together again, we spent the next year exploring Atlanta, finding our favorite spots, and starting to make the city feel like home. A year later, we moved into our first place together and quickly learned even more about each other’s quirks - like Nolan learning how to properly fold bath towels and Katie figuring out where, exactly, mounted wood ducks belong in a shared home. Despite the learning curve, our two years in that house were some of our favorite yet. Between all of the PBR pitchers at Moes & Joes down one side of the street and pints of Guinness at Limerick's down the other, this is where we made some of our closest friends. In June 2025, we bought our first house together. Six months later, Nolan proposed on the front porch; the perfect place to start our next chapter! By then, Atlanta had truly become home. We had our house, our chocolate Lab, Stout, and a life together that we loved. The last six months of 2025 moved pretty fast, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate what comes next with all of you!
