We met like how most modern couples meet nowadays, they both swiped right! After realizing that we had a friend in common we decided to go on a date. Our first date was a St. Patty’s festival in downtown San Diego. Here we are 7 years later!
Spain had been on our minds for years. We always knew that traveling there would be nothing short of spectacular. Add an engagement ring into the mix and it becomes life changing! While one of us (Megs) was getting their flawless European attire packed and ready, the other (Oscar) was preparing for a proposal speech that would undoubtedly prove him as the corniest man alive. We then embarked on this 2-week journey throughout Spain and Amsterdam enjoying the atmosphere, scenery, wine and amazing food. We decided to take a train from Seville to Granada in hopes of viewing the beautiful scenery of Spain, and we were not disappointed! When we arrived in Granada we were amazed by the beautiful architecture of the buildings, narrow roads and welcoming locals. Furthermore, this would be the city in which the big question would be popped. The only problem was finding the right place at the right time. On day three in Granada, Oscar was feeling this would be the night! We had a dinner planned with a view of the Alhambra Castle. Wine started to flow, Tapas were served and the plan was in motion. After dinner, we walked along the narrow cobblestone streets and Meagan wondered why we were still walking aimlessly around and not going back to the hotel. Each viewpoint we stopped at had large crowds which made Oscar nervous and he decided that there could possibly be another viewpoint with less people. Viewpoint after viewpoint, large crowd after large crowd, we arrived at the last place. Of course, this viewpoint had the largest crowd of them all! People were chatting, guitars were strumming, and Oscar took a knee. Suddenly, we felt like we were in our own world without anyone else around because all that mattered was each other. It’s a moment that we will truly never forget!
