We first met in 2013 on a road trip to Wyoming as campers at YMCA Camp Widjiwagan, and would see each other again every summer throughout high school. Although we did not start dating until later, we did share a pair of earbuds to watch a movie on a flight home from Alaska after not showering for 45 days, which laid the groundwork for what was to come. It wasn't until coming back to work at Widji in the summer of 2016 that our relationship began. At the end of that first summer we decided to continue our relationship long distance going into our sophomore year of college. A week later Kevin left school in Vermont to transfer to Colorado College (which by pure coincidence happened to be an hour away from Kate at the University of Denver). We were able to see each other regularly throughout the rest of college and continued to work together at Widji in the summers, where we eventually took campers on the very same road trip to Wyoming where we had met in 2013. After a brief stint living in Denver (and adopting our dog, Sota) post graduation, COVID changed our plans and we moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming on a whim. While we intended to only stay for a year to "wait out the pandemic," leaving Jackson is easier said than done, and it took 4 and a half years of exploring the Tetons before we both started graduate programs and moved back to Colorado to finish school and internships. After nearly 9 years of dating, we got engaged in May of 2025 (most of you were probably thinking "it's about time"). We have decided to get married on August 22, 2026 at the aptly named Loveland ski area. Loveland and the nearby Georgetown hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope you will join us there to celebrate!
