The Future Jessens

Luke and Ava’s love story began in the fall of 2020, during their junior and senior years of high school. However, they actually attended the same elementary and middle schools in Elkhorn! After officially meeting through mutual friends, they started dating in November 2020. The following year, Luke left for college to play baseball, and a year later, Ava joined him at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. They spent their college years making countless memories through travels, baseball games, and time spent with family & friends. Along the way, they also experienced several summers of long distance while Luke played summer baseball in Ohio, Washington D.C., and Illinois, and Ava spent time in Italy and New York City. Luke graduated from college in May 2025, and Ava graduated in May 2026. New York City has always held a special place in their hearts. Over the years, they made many trips to visit Aunt Joan, who has played an important role in their relationship! In June 2026, Luke asked Ava to marry him while they were on a rowboat in Central Park. It was a special moment they will cherish forever! Luke and Ava will be getting married on their 6.5-year dating anniversary, a beautiful reminder of how far the Lord has brought them since the beginning of their story.
