Sometimes timing really is everything, and looking back, we can see God’s goodness in every part of ours. For the longest time, we both lived in Spokane, building our own lives just miles apart, yet somehow our paths never crossed. We had no idea that the person we would one day call home was right there all along. It wasn’t until just a couple of months before Dena had decided to move back home to the West Side that, in the goodness and perfect timing of the Lord, our lives finally found their way to one another. From the very beginning, our relationship felt like an adventure. On one of our very first dates, we quite literally took a leap of faith and jumped out of an airplane together! Looking back, it feels pretty fitting for us. That adrenaline-filled day set the tone for so much of what was to come; a relationship full of adventure, spontaneity, laughter, and a willingness to take some pretty big leaps together. But somewhere between all of the adventures and excitement, something even more special was happening. There was an ease and comfort between us that felt different from anything either of us had experienced before. Kyle quickly became Dena’s safest place, best friend, and the person who simply felt like home. It didn’t take long for us to realize that what we had found in each other was something we never wanted to let go of. When it came time for Dena to move back home to Edmonds, we prepared ourselves for the reality of a long-distance relationship. What we didn’t know was that the distance wouldn’t last very long. Before long, Kyle packed up his life in Spokane and moved across the state to the West Side so we could build a life together. It was one of the many ways he showed that this love was something worth choosing wholeheartedly. Through cross-state drives, new beginnings, ordinary days at home, and countless memories in between, we continued to fall more and more in love. And eventually, all of those leaps of faith led to one more…. In the most perfectly Pacific Northwest way possible, Kyle got down on one knee on a ferry and asked Dena to spend forever with him. After everything that had brought us to that moment, it was the easiest “yes” of her life. Our story has taught us that sometimes God’s greatest gifts are already closer than we realize. We simply have to trust His timing. From living miles apart without ever meeting, to jumping out of airplanes, moving across Washington, building a home together, and now preparing to become husband and wife, we are endlessly grateful for the way the Lord wrote our story. We can’t wait for this next great adventure and we feel incredibly blessed to celebrate the beginning of our marriage surrounded by the people who have loved, supported, and prayed for us along the way. We are so excited to have you be a part of the next chapter of our love story!!!! Love Always, Dena + Kyle
