Where it all began...

The nearly decade long story of Kate + Steve

Katie and Steven met in the summer of 2011 in Arlington, Virginia (although Steven swears that he had a thing for Katie at least 1 year prior) through mutual friends. One evening in Georgetown, while they were out at the same bar, Katie approached Steven (debatable) and the flirtatious banter began. This continued for weeks until Steven finally asked Katie out for a date...and the rest is history! Just a few months later in February 2012, Katie and Steven decided to make the leap & move in together… in a brand new city. They packed up everything they owned, sold their cars & drove a very large moving truck into a very tiny city called New York City! They spend as much time in NYC as they do outside. Explorers at heart, the two have bonded over their shared love to travel (and Hudson, of course). They’ve gone up and down the East Coast and explored the West. Together they’ve taken their first trip to Italy, Hawaii and 8 Caribbean islands! An all time favorite was a trip to TULUM that Steven surprised Katie with for her 30th Birthday. Hence us bringing you fine folks all the way to Mexico with us! On a warm fall night in 2017 Steven popped the big ol’ question…what’s for dinner?! We settled on a spot in DUMBO and after the best black truffle pizza of their lives, they walked outside to see the city lights. The setting could not be more fitting as the crowds had dispersed for the night and the Manhattan skyline was set perfectly behind the Brooklyn Bridge. When they arrived to the edge of the water in front of Jane’s Carousel, Steven knew this was the perfect spot. He'll never forget the way she looked so beautiful, was perfectly surprised, and answered with the word Yes. Which was then celebrated with tequila. Obvi. Nearly 8 years of memories later, passport stamps & subway cards that effortlessly explain our life and one adorably crazy fur child we call Hudson, we get to say I do. And we cannot wait to do it with our most favorite humans by our side!
