On a Saturday afternoon in late August 2022, Mark and Chloe separately ventured to McCarran Park to celebrate a mutual friend’s birthday. What began as a chance encounter between two strangers turned into one of the most important days of their lives. Upon meeting, the couple were immediately drawn to each other, innocently pairing up for a few yard games. And while Chloe’s raw talent for KanJam, egg-toss, and spike ball served as a repeated conversation point throughout the day, it was her infectious smile, genuine nature, and unrivaled wit that left Mark searching for any excuse to remain by her side. The afternoon quickly turned to evening, and conversation flowed natural as the sunset itself. That night, the newly acquainted friend group ignited the streets of Williamsburg, jumping from dinner, to darts, to dancing, passing through neighborhood spots that would later become staples of Mark and Chloe’s relationship. On that very night, Mark worked up the courage to politely request a first kiss; and in that one, single and perfect August day, Chloe and Mark had found each other, forever. In the early weeks and months that followed, Mark and Chloe discovered how effortless it was to be together. Their third date brought an unexpected turn when Chloe fell extremely ill with COVID, unbeknownst to Mark; what was meant as a single evening date necessitated to a full weekend staycation as Chloe inconspicuously wrestled with a high fever and chills to show support for Mark’s mediocre cooking. He would later come to understand that this was the first of many moments Chloe would put on her crimson cape to make him feel seen and special. During those first months, Chloe often joked about being the "cool girl," intentionally holding back her enthusiasm for the relationship in fear of coming on too strong. But Mark never felt it that way. Looking back now, they laugh at those moments, knowing they were both silently hooked from the start. As their relationship deepened, the couple found themselves spending all their free time with one another. And when an opportunity presented itself, the pair agreed that Chloe should sub-lease an apartment at 1 South 1st, the building where Mark lived in Williamsburg at the time. True to form, Chloe was hesitant to even suggest the idea, worried it might be perceived as her moving too fast. But each decision, from those early subleases to eventually moving in together, simply further exposed the shared intention of two people who wanted to be closer to one another. What had started as a chance meeting in the park was becoming a shared life. Music and travel, and a few nights of darts in between, became the language of their love. Their journeys together unfolded like pages from a storybook. Their first international adventure took them to Italy for Chloe's cousin Jake's wedding, where they rode on horses through the Tuscan countryside, and celebrated, danced, and even slept within the formidable stone walls of a centuries-old medieval castle. They stood spellbound before Michelangelo's David in Florence, and wandered the ancient ruins and catacombs of Rome. Despite their action-packed itineraries, they always found time to stop at a picturesque piazza where Chloe could pitch her latest concept for a Bravo TV franchise, “Real Housewives of Palatine Hill”. The couple’s playfulness became a centerpiece of their travels together, with laughter and joy fueling their ever-growing love. Breathtaking views were made even more special by the presence of Chloe's family, who she shares an unbreakable bond with, and whose affection for Mark was also growing by the day...
...Only a few short months later Chloe shared in the joy of celebrating a major birthday milestone for Mark’s mother, joining a Zimowski family trip to the beaches of South Carolina. Chloe’s care and generosity shined early on as she decorated the house for Mrs. Zimowski’s arrival, helping launch a long weekend of love and joy with Mark’s family. Unsurprisingly, Mark’s brothers were immediately compelled by Chloe’s enthusiasm for life, and despite her understandable reluctance, she dove into the world of fantasy playing cards and never-ending late night board games. These trips, combined with many shared weekends and holidays visiting Northern New Jersey or Central New York, the couple were always welcomed within the Gonzalez and Zimowski households with open arms. From the frozen lakes of Lake Placid, to the beaches of the Caribbean and Baja Peninsula, to the deserts of Coachella, they collected unforgettable memories through the filling pages of their passports. And while among those trips, Mark frequently dreamt of their future together, it was their trip to London that really affirmed his certainty. In July of 2024, Mark surprised Chloe with tickets to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour at Wembley stadium for her birthday (aka the best day of her life). They landed after an overnight flight, exhausted but energized, and decided to explore rather than rest. With their close friend Das, they wandered the historic canals of Camden, laughing through the day, meeting people from all walks of life. At the concert, they danced and sang freely in the comfort of one another’s arms, radiating pure joy. Into the wee hours of the night, they enjoyed the company of an eclectic group of newly made friends. And throughout that day and deep into the night, Mark was continually engulfed with many of the reasons he loved Chloe – of which, her ability to bring joy and laughter out of complete strangers, and the way, no matter where they were, they always found safety and comfort in one another. In the years that followed, Chloe and Mark kept exploring – returning to Italy for another celebration, wandering the island of Malta, and chasing new adventures wherever they could. But it was a hiking trip to the Tatra Mountains in Poland in 2025 that became their most unforgettable adventure yet. On an early morning hike through a stunning flower meadow, as the sun rose over the mountains, Mark dropped to one knee and asked Chloe to marry him. After initially responding with “Are you sure?”, she turned next to an emphatic “yes!”. Mark was beyond relieved and elated, and the feeling only multiplied when news broke of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement just a few hours later that same day. Behind closed doors, Mark and Chloe still laugh about how the four of them collectively ushered in their Engagement Era together. Mark and Chloe have been living out their engaged days happily in their Brooklyn apartment where, just as much as a European vacation, they cherish a casual Tuesday, listening to the sirens of FDNY’s Ladder 149, cooking, enjoying the latest sitcom that Chloe absolutely must introduce Mark to, or taking their talents to Talea’s Triva night. And despite Mark’s complete lack of value in said Trivia night, Chloe has still agreed to marry him, and they are so beyond thrilled to start this next chapter together. And while their eyes look toward their future, their hearts remain ever-present, with one another, both feeling like they have enjoyed the blessings of a lifetime to have found one another.
