I was sitting at home watching a track meet on TV, as I would from time to time as a fan of the sport. This particular time, a beautiful young lady appeared on my screen that piqued my interest. So, as one does, I found and followed her on Instagram, hoping that she would follow me back. And by God’s grace, two days later she did. After that, I messaged her, and we had a brief conversation. We didn’t speak for a few months when I saw her post that she was racing at a track meet in Atlanta. At the time, I was also in Atlanta doing my offseason training. Unfortunately, 2 days before the meet, I had to fly back to New York at the last minute to sign a contract. I thought I had missed my opportunity to see her. As fate would have it, a few short weeks later, she posted that she would be running in another track meet, this time in New York. Luckily for me, the meet fell on our off day, so I attended in hopes of meeting her. After the meet concluded, I made my way down to the track, and we met briefly before she was pulled away by fans for media. I was about to head home when a conversation interrupted me. This conversation turned out to be pivotal because it held me up just long enough that, when I was walking out of the stadium, ordering an Uber on my phone, I looked up and there, none other than my future wife, was walking in front of me. I gave myself a quick hype-up speech, then approached her and her coach. I asked her to dinner that night, and she said yes. We went to dinner and ended up walking and talking for 2 1/2 hours together around Times Square. Her smile, infectious laughter, boldness, and intelligent mind assured me this one was special. A year later, I found myself back at the same track, on one knee, proposing to the love of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. And that is the story of how I met my soon-to-be Wife. We are so excited to experience the blessing of marriage together and to celebrate with you all!
