Angelica was born and raised in San Diego, CA. At age 17 she attended California State University, Long Beach. After graduating from college, she moved to Los Angeles. Today she is living her dream as a stand up comedian while balancing a full time career as a Director of Marketing.
Antwoine aka T-wiz aka Troy, was born in Austin, TX. His family was in the military which led him to experience living around the world, from Kansas City to Germany. At age 18 he decided to drop out of college and move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a music producer and artist. He has since became a Grammy Award winning producer and recording artist.
We met on October 23, 2010 crossing paths on our Downtown LA Apartment building rooftop where we were neighbors. Antwoine was celebrating his birthday and I was hosting a friend's birthday that night. Shortly after we met, I became the assistant manager of the apartment building we lived in. Antwoine would come by the leasing office almost daily, to wait for his then girlfriend at the time to arrive. We'd sit and share stories, getting to know each other. These moments were when I realized what a beautiful spirit he was. I had never met anyone like him and remember thinking "I'd love to be this guy's best friend!" He later moved to Santa Monica to be closer to his music studio at the time, and we kept in touch. When we met we were both in relationships, however we both ended our relationships around the same time in 2011. I called him to tell him the good news about being newly single and he said he wanted to "come over and hear all about it". That night, he came over, to my apartment with 3 bottles of wine, and he "heard all about it" (TMI). Although our first time hanging out was amazing, the timing wasn't right. We remained friends and I entered a new relationship with someone else. As months went by, I couldn't stop thinking about Antwoine, my heart was with him all along. I called him and confessed my feelings and ended my relationship I had at that time. Days later, Antwoine asked me to be his girlfriend via text message lol. He took me on a trip to Miami that year (2012), and the rest is history. We've been together for almost 9 years! We've been through it all and we're blessed to have found true love that is stronger than us, it is a gift from God. Our wedding was scheduled for April 4th 2020, however due to the pandemic we had to postpone not once, not twice, but 3 times. We were ok with it because we trust in God's timing, it's always been good to us. Now we look forward to an even more special celebration on 8/28/2021!
Antwoine planned an extravagant surprise proposal. He had our friends Don, Noemi and Selita, along with my mom, travel to Catalina Island with 4 gallons of fresh picked red rose petals. He had them spell out "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" across the sand. He had me thinking we were going to a Catalina Wine Mixer for his friend Dom Kennedy's record label, OPM. He created a fake invitation, flyer, and even made a fake email address to use as a fake rsvp contact email. Antwoine took me on the ferry ride from San Pedro instead of Long Beach, because "the Long Beach ferry was sold out because of the wine mixer event" (lies, he actually had our friends and my mom take the ferry from Long Beach, so he didn't want us to run into them and spoil the surprise). When we arrived to Catalina Island, he told me we had to find Dom's DJ somewhere on the beach in front of a certain hotel, so we walked around and onto the beach, but couldn't find him (because he didn't exist). As we made our way down the beach, I started to notice the entire island of people were staring at us very strange. We then approached what I thought was red seaweed on the beach, which happened to be the roses. I was completely confused thinking "how the hell could he have done this? How could he have pulled this off for me? There is no way he did this, no way this is for me". That moment was when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I looked up at the restaurant that sat above where we were standing, only to see my friends and my mom cheering with happy tears! I couldn't believe it. We then walked up to the restaurant to pop champagne and celebrate. Just when I thought the surprise was finished, we took the ferry back to San Pedro, drove to "get a bite to eat" and he surprised me yet again with an engagement dinner with some of our closest friends at The Reef restaurant overlooking the beach in Long Beach. It was the most romantic, emotional, magical proposal I could've ever wished for.
