Allyce was attending The Univeristy of Alabama and David was attending Auburn University. David grew up in Fairhope, Alabama and Allyce grew up in Wilmette, Illinois. The fact that their lives ever crossed paths is a blessing in disguise. David and Allyce have their own connections to Mobile and Fairhope, Alabama. David was born in Fairhope and attended high school in Mobile. Allyce has a strong connection with her mom's family that are from Mobile and Fairhope. In 2019, Allyce and David met on a blind date in Fairhope. Every year Fairhope holds numerous Mardi Gras parades and balls. Allyce’s college roommate, who happened to have gone to high school with David, set them up together for a Mardi Gras Ball. It didn’t take much for them to get along. They spent the night talking and dancing to songs they both didn’t know the words to. At the end of the Mardi Gras weekend, they went their separate ways to their rival schools. Not a day or two went by before they contacted each other and started planning their next date. Everything was moving pretty fast. Within a month, they were dating and had many trips planned to see each other throughout the summer. Senior year approached and they managed to visit each other multiple times and grew even closer. David wasn’t missing Auburn football games for just anyone. 2020 put their relationship into fast forward. Covid-19 caused for school to shut down and Allyce and David moved to Fairhope to live with David's parents. Certain arrangements would not be ideal to most couples but David and Allyce were just glad to finally be in the same place. In February 2024, exactly 5 years after meeting Allyce, David got the nerve to propose. The night before they left for their annual Mardi Gras ball, David surprised Allyce with a ring after getting drinks at Chez LuLu in Birmingham, AL.
