About this venue

The Boettcher Mansion, a historic and elegantly rustic setting, is located just 30 minutes outside Denver in Golden, CO inside the beautiful Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve. The mansion once served as a seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, but was then donated to the county for public use. This gorgeous stone lodge is a knockout venue for the nature-loving couple that wants to infuse their special day with a unique woodsy vibe. Promise yourselves to each other forever on the Fireside Room Patio amid vast blue skies and lush evergreens. Take unforgettable wedding photos in the unique stone gazebo and throughout the stunning surroundings. A memorable mountain getaway showcasing Colorado's beauty all year-round

Originally the Mansion's "great-hall", the 1,100-plus square-foot Fireside Room features a cathedral-beamed ceiling, moss-rock walls, wood floors, and an inglenook (walk-in) fireplace. Flanked by the Buffet and Piano Rooms (each measuring 290 square-feet), the room also adjoins a 1,500 square-foot patio. Capacity is 200 guests maximum.

Description

The reservation is a 9-hour timeframe between 8am-12am that includes 3 hours of prep-time, 5 hours of event time, 1 hour of cleanup time. Pricing varies based on day of the week and time of the year. Extra time can be purchased for a fee. Additional spaces can be added on to have options for a cocktail hour, and to secure the entire property. We highly recommend choosing one of our Preferred Caterers, but there is the option to bring in someone else for an additional fee.

Description

The Gazebo is typically for ceremonies only, and is a 2-hour reservation including setup and cleanup. Additional time can be purchased, if available, for $200/hour. Reservations cannot be made more than 5 months prior to the event date. The surrounding grounds can be used for photos after the ceremony.

We stumbled upon the Mansion on a hike and it was absolutely perfect. Situated on top of Lookout Mountain, you get the feel of being in the mountains without the drive - especially ideal if you have a lot of out of town guests. We worked mainly with Shea Carlson leading up to it and she was so timely, professional, and helpful. It is a smaller venue, so I would say it fits under 130 best but they can fit up to 150. It's a really unique spot that doesn't require a lot of decor and was itself a fun activity for guests to roam the house and gardens. We enjoyed everyone we worked with and felt all we asked for was delivered and worked with. Loved it!

Yes! We do not have any alcohol packages available to purchase in-house.

Yes, it is self-parking with about 120 spaces available, but we still recommend carpooling or hiring a shuttle service. Cars can be left in the lot overnight and picked up by 9am the follow morning, unless another event is scheduled in earlier.

Yes, all our facilities on the first level are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and patio entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.

Initial setup, tables, and chairs

For a Fireside Room/Main House reservation, the base timing is a 9-hour timeframe (3 hours of prep-time, 5 hours of event time, 1 hour of cleanup time). For a Gazebo reservation, the base timing is a 3-hour timeframe (30 minutes of prep, one hour of event time, 30 minutes of cleanup)

Our building is located about 40 miles west of Denver International Airport in Golden, CO. You can reach the venue via taxi or ride share (Lyft, Uber, etc.).

It is not required, but we do suggest buying additional event insurance. Our venue and staff are insured, and all of our vendors are insured, so the additional insurance covers you and your guests should anything happen on or before the day-of.

Cancellations will result in forfeiture of your your initial payment (half of your rental fees). Once your total rental fees are paid (six months prior to your event date), they are refundable, minus the initial payment, only if another event books your timeframe. If another event does not book your timeframe(s), then the entire rental fee is forfeited.
