The Mather Building is located at 30 S. Magnolia Avenue. It is a three-story building constructed by Edward Kuhl and James Delaney. The structure predates the major 1884 fire which began in Delaney’s nearby wooden grocery store, spread to Bassett’s Millinery Store and then to Dr. R.J. Gilliam’s Drug Store. The large fire also destroyed the printing plant of the Reporter, Orlando’s first newspaper.
