I've had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember; I used it like a pocket journal of sorts and photographed constantly while growing up in Hawai'i. I fell into weddings when my dad remarried in 2013, and I remember being caught off guard by the swirl of emotions I felt standing at the edge of a new beginning. Turning those feelings into tangible memories was the only thing that made sense. I moved to New York City to refine my skillset and took a detour into the fashion industry before receiving my Bachelor's in photography from NYU.

Natalie is an absolutely amazing, fun, and talented photographer and human being. We loved having her!! 10/10 y’all!! She is so talented that she shoots in both film and digital! She was so kind and patient with us throughout the day even though we were running behind and we both had LARGE families that love having photos taken. She was so patient throughout all the iterations of family photos and didn’t rush us at all but also got the day moving. She was calm and she checked in on us to make sure we were ok. When we felt stressed, she assured us everything was going to be alright and that we had time. I can’t stress how huge this was! I think this shows that she’s not just an incredible photographer but also an amazing human being who cares about her clients. And of course beyond that, we LOVE our photos! There are truly TOO Many good ones to choose from. She was absolutely a star and we loved working with her so much. She got the needed family shots but also got some really cool artistic fashion shots too! AND on top of that, photos of details that were honestly very carefully chosen out. And it made us so happy that she caught that and documented it. For example, the tea ceremony teapot and cups were a long adventure to find and hold significance for us. She just does it all folks. She’s amazing and I am so glad we had her for our engagement shoot and our big day. We love you Natalie! Thank you for everything!

Hi! I'm Chrissy. I've been lucky enough to photograph weddings and meet tons of awesome couples since 2014. I'm based in Boston, MA but I'm always more than happy to travel anywhere your adventure takes you. My work has brought me as far as Tokyo and I'm so ready to explore more new places! In my down time I love to surf, paint, go to concerts, and watch horror movies. I'm full of useless astrology facts and I always have extra snacks with me.

Awarded Best of Zola
Chrissy is an absolutely amazing photographer. I’ve followed her work for years and knew as soon as we got engaged that Chrissy would be our photographer. During the process I stressed to Chrissy I just didn’t want the same traditional boring poses/portraits for either our engagement photos or wedding photos and she delivered! Granted, there were some exceptions for family photos of course, but overall exactly what we wanted. Chrissy made us feel extremely comfortable and I trusted her judgement on everything. She is easy to work with and really goes above and beyond to make sure that your day goes smoothly. Thank you so much for everything! You really helped capture the love and happiness on our wedding day!

With Love & Embers

Annville, PA

We are Ryan + Jillian, a husband and wife photography team. We fell into wedding photography after our own wedding when Ryan's best man/cousin Sean passed away. Receiving our wedding photos while helping plan the funeral was the greatest gift we could have ever gotten. At that moment, fully understanding just how fleeting life truly is, that started our love affair with wedding photography. We love how wedding photography does not have to be corny or grossly over staged. It can be candid, genuine, and provide amazing couples with images that they will cherish for a lifetime.

Several years ago I had the privilege to see behind the curtain to just how magical the portrait process and experience is with Jillian + Ryan of With Love & Embers. We were all working together on a progressive elopement that occurred in parts along a waterfall hike, so in between the stop for vows, or exchanging of rings, I got to see how they create comfortable and visually powerful photos with their couples. Nobody was feeling awkward or posed, Jillian + Ryan have a way about them that builds rapport and trust with their couples--people know that the photographer thinks they are beautiful...the setting is beautiful...their connection and relationships are beautiful and worthy of fine photography. In all the years that I've watched photographers work and also my experience being photographed, I can't stress how important it is for the people being photographed to not only feel comfortable but also feel confident that they are at their best. With Love & Embers is one of my favorite photography teams, they don't just take pictures, they create beautifully composed moments of connection and then photograph that!

Hey there! I am Katrina. I am a lifestyle, wedding and elopement photographer. My style is without a doubt moody. I live for those candids. I thrive when you are authentically and unapologetically yourself!

Katrina is amazing! I got married in October and received my sneak peaks within a week. They are by far some of the best wedding photos I’ve ever seen and fit perfectly with the moody romanticism that was the running theme of the night. Katrina had great ideas on where to stage pictures but also listened to suggestions from myself and others in my wedding party. She directed when needed, wasn’t afraid to jump into the fray to get a picture and worked well with the coordinator and DJ. She was great with communication and even met with me a few weeks prior to the wedding to visit the various locations that we would be taking pictures at on the day of (there were 4!). I literally can not sing her praises enough and will without a doubt use her services in the future.

Hi there! I'm Bryan and I can't wait to capture the beauty of your love and the joy of your big day. I've been photographing weddings for nine years and love working with couples interested in authentic moments and stunning portraits. From your getting ready details to your final send off, I blend in seamlessly and document the day like a friend, keeping it fun and stress free. With a style that is timeless and not bound to the trends of the moment, I capture each couple in a unique way and I see you for you.

Awarded Best of Zola
The photos Bryan took on our wedding day are special. Bryan is one of the vendors from our wedding day that really stood out. He wasn't just a photographer at the end of the day he felt like a family member or a long time friend. He tries really hard to make you feel comfortable and it definitely shows in his photos. He's not in the way when it's important and the fact that he's taking pictures isn't distracting. (Perfect for the ceremony) Bryan is super fun, we now have a few pics of him dancing with us! Years from now we'll get to look back at those photos and laugh. I love that he joined in, it was way better than having someone hide in a corner and take photos. It made the experience way more enjoyable. If you're looking for someone who will capture those special moments and emotions that will transport you back in time , then Bryan's your guy.

After some research, I decided to go with Prime Star Visuals for part of my wedding. They were very informative from the beginning and responded quickly with great details on my questions. Dave and team present me with many options that would fit my request. All the pictures were fantastic and I was so pleased that I called them back for a family session photoshoot. The entire team were very professional and were prepared with quality and high-end technologies. Satisfied customer and will be calling them back. I wish that I would have used them for our wedding. Pictures were better quality compared to other vendors

Hello and welcome! My name is Tatiana and I'm the girl from Brooklyn but I was born in raised in Siberia, Russia. Since I was teenager I was taken photographs of every day moments and small happenings in my life. And I never knew that taking photographs and creating memories for other people will become my dream job! I am a traveller, adventurer, dog lover and of course wedding and elopement photographer in NYC and beyond! And let me tell you I absolutely love weddings! It's a tremendous honor to witness and document the love. I always shed a tear at the ceremonies.

It's been almost 2 years since we were married, and looking back on our wedding album, I am so glad we found Tati. As we suspected, our wedding day was a whirlwind. With so much happening at once, it took some time to ease into the moment, and at times, it was hard to stay in the moment. Regardless, from beginning to end, Tati captured all the important ones beautifully. We couldn't be happier.

I am not one who feels comfortable taking photos and when it was time to take engagement photos I was so nervous. Libby was an absolute dream to work with. She gave amazing suggestions and calmed my nerves when I was worried about all the rain on our shoot day. She perfectly captured my husband and I’s love for each other in every picture. I really can’t imagine working with any other company besides Broadside Visuals, they are THE best of the best. It’s like you are getting photos taken by a friend, they are so much more than just a vendor. Thank you so so much for not only these photos we will cherish forever but for such an amazing experience.

I put my heart into every session. My goal is to be a calming presence , help the day run smoothly, and ensure everyone in front of the camera feels comfortable. These moments, whether they are big or small, are forever once they are captured. I want you to re-live the beautiful and meaningful times. When you see these photos, I want you to feel the same emotions I had while taking them. If I’m being honest, there’s a 99% chance I will shed a tear on your wedding day. I’ve accepted that is just who I am!

Kaitlyn was an incredible photographer to work with! We did 2 engagement photoshoot sessions with her, which were both so fun!! My husband was dreading the photography most, out of all parts of “wedding planning.” But Kaitlyn was able to make him feel relaxed and comfortable so that he actually enjoyed himself! And he actually loves the way he looks in the photos! (He usually hates having his photo taken and the way he photographs.) Kaitlyn was able to capture our silliness, laughter, and genuine happiness in the candid photos which is exactly the look and feel I was hoping for in our photos! (I’m personally not a fan of the stiff posed or moody photos.) Our second engagement shoot also included our dog, which was fantastic! Not only was Kaitlyn great to work with on wedding day and the 2 engagement shoots, she was also a great resource for planning the logistics and timeline of the wedding day. She had great input of the flow of the entire day, which was something I had completely overlooked. Most importantly, Kaitlyn was very professional the entire time. We also gave Kaitlyn the added task of photographing the flower girl nieces (ages 2 & 7 years) and the ring bearer nephew (age 5) who is on the Autism Spectrum. All 3 kiddos still talk months later about how they had so much fun at the wedding! And Kaitlyn was able to capture them all smiling! Photographing dogs and kids is always difficult to ask for, but the photos of our smiling nephew on our wedding day made the parents and grandparents cry tears of joy! It’s rare to catch this kid smiling! We loved working with Kaitlyn, and we can’t wait to do more photoshoots together in the future!

About wedding photographers in New York, NY

How much does a wedding photographer typically cost in New York, NY?

A New York, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000. The cost reflects the number of hours included, if there is a second photographer, any prints or albums, and, most importantly, the experience of the photographer. But every snapshot they take is a priceless memory of your big day — way better than your bestie's blurry smartphone pics, right?

Do most photographers include a second photographer?

94% of photographers in New York, NY offer a second photographer, although it typically depends on the package you book! Second photographers are helpful because one person can’t be everywhere at once, and the second photographer ensures all the details are covered.

Which are the most popular photographers in New York, NY?

Some of the most popular photographers in this area include The Pros Weddings, SweetEmms Photography and Ashley Cynthia Photography.

What else should I keep in mind when booking a wedding photographer?

Are you interested in an engagement shoot as a test run? Drone photography? Wedding albums? All helpful things to ask about when you’re considering which wedding photographer to book!

What questions should I ask a wedding photographer in NYC?

It can be hard to know exactly what you should be looking for when you’re first exploring wedding photographers. You might want to ask questions like, "How do you capture the essence of 'us'?" or "How do you balance capturing our must have shot list without missing out on unexpected candid moments?" Don't forget the nitty-gritty, either. Inquire about their portfolio, if they've shot at your venue before, and how they navigate New York City’s unpredictable elements (because who hasn't seen a taxi photobomb?). Check out our full list of questions to ask your wedding photographer for even more info.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos in NYC?

Picture this: you've said your vows, had the time of your life at the reception, and now you're back from your honeymoon, eager to relive it all through your photos. But you might need to wait a minute, because good things take time! Most NYC wedding photographers will ask for a 4 to 8-week grace period to finalize your photos. They're carefully sifting through the raw emotions and dance-floor shenanigans to deliver a gallery that's as epic as your love story. We know how eager you are to relive those moments, but your stunning snaps will be worth the wait.

How many images are typically included in a wedding photo package?

Wedding photo packages in NYC are as varied as the city itself, but on average, you might see anything from 300 to 700 finished photos. But hey, it’s not just about quantity, it’s the heart-stopping, tear-jerking quality that counts. Make sure to chat with your photographer about what's important to you – maybe it's those candid laughs during the toast or that magical first dance. So, whether you’re aiming for a minimalist album or an epic visual novella of your day, rest assured you'll have enough photos to keep your memories fresh and your heart full!

Are engagement sessions typically included in wedding photography packages in New York City?

Looking for a photographer to capture the excitement of your engagement, too? Look no further. Many New York wedding photographers bundle engagement photo sessionsinto your wedding package, or will add them on at a reduced rate. It's like a romantic pre-game show where you and your SO can get over some of the camera-shyness. Plus, it's a fantastic way to test the waters with your photographer before the big day so you can make sure they’re a perfect fit (and to capture some great shots for your save the dates!).
