We focus on naturalistic and organic inspired floral art. During the consultation process, we discuss your vision and give design suggestions if needed. It takes a load off your shoulders to know someone is going to completely capture the vibe of your event with flowers!

Her journey started at the age of six years old, Melissa-May was surrounded by all aspects of creativity. Her ability to visualize things, put them onto paper and create anything from scratch was also apparent at a young age when she completed an illustration of her dream house, then constructed an entire floor plan and a model house made out of popsicle sticks. Furthermore, at the age of 12, her friend’s mother noticed Melissa-May’s gift of artistry and requested that she create cartoon place cards for her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. She later was asked to create the invitations and centerpieces for her best friend’s Debutant ball.

After graduating with a Visual Design degree from FIT in New York City, I moved back to the Bay Area and decided to continue to pursue my passion for florals and romance. Now seven full wedding seasons in, I can call myself an artisan floral designer known for wild, raw and natural arrangements. Our aesthetic incorporates rare and unique ingredients; from wild fruits and vines, unique, fragrant, antique roses and other premium blooms. I truly believe beautiful lush flowers are what make a party, a wedding!

Rissa’s love for floristry first began over 15 years ago in a local flower shop and has most recently taken her to Australia to discover and fall in love with an inspiring floral industry. My career has morphed into something more than just floral design. I am an art director, a flower fairy godmother, and a wedding therapist. We, my husband and I, started Fleurology for the need for a stronger connection with clients + the want to spend more time at home. We didn't know what we were in for with Fleurology Designs, but after 10 years in the floral industry (7 of those being with weddings and private events) my husband told me it was now or never to pursue my passions of being a business owner. Fast forward to today, 5.5 years later, we have a personal and customized wedding experience. We even kept a team busy during the pandemic + 3rd year of winning the Revues 2nd place as "Best event planner in West MI". Pushing for the highest of standards for experiences!
