    Dogwood Floral
    Knoxville, TN

Hi! I'm Katy, the owner and floral designer here at Dogwood Floral. We are a Knoxville floral studio specializing in garden-style and bespoke floral arrangements in East Tennessee. This style is a more organic approach to floristry than some of the more classic forms, and aims to reflect the ways that flowers and foliage grows naturally. This is why it sometimes has that "wild" or more "messy", often greenery-heavy look. We love incorporating a lot of texture into our designs to add visual interest and depth! ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, we would love to chat about your needs.

I planned my wedding at the height of the first wave of COVID. Poppy had put together a proposal for me for a full range of flowers and table settings for my big wedding. Then, a few months ahead of the wedding we postponed. Poppy was totally accommodating in shifting the date. Finally we downsized to an intimate front yard wedding— at the last minute. I reached out to Poppy to see if they could provide me with just a bouquet and boutonnière. Once again, Poppy was super flexible. I was able to pick up both items the day before the wedding and they were absolutely stunning! I had wanted something a little more informal for our garden setting and they totally delivered, with a lush bouquet even featuring a foraged vine. I was so grateful to have beautiful flowers (we even repurposed for centerpiece at dinner) and an incredibly easy experience. Not everyone would have been willing to accommodate so many changes in plans, dates, and scale, but Poppy did so willingly and with a smile. I’ve already recommended them to another bride who used them for her own wedding this past April. Look no further than Poppy!! They are the best!

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

We worked with Bloom Culture for our wedding and the process was easy and fun! Alison created beautiful flower recipes that were exactly what I pictured. The tutorial videos make the assembly process easy to follow and it was a lot of fun customizing the bouquets to my liking while using the flower formulas as a guide. The flowers were delivered in great condition and the flower guide helps you organize everything to make assembly easy. All you need are a few helpers and you are able to save a lot of money on flowers! I highly recommend Bloom Culture for DIY floral arrangements.

Katie makes the most beautiful handmade paper flowers out of book pages! Her work is thoughtful, whimsical and exactly what I needed for a Harry Potter themed styled shoot. Weddings are a celebration of love. As humans, we have a deep, primal need for a “village,” a group of people whom we trust to support us. And where would we be without the love of our family and chosen family? It heals us, brings us together, celebrates our differences, and it allows us to keep going when this big adventure gets scary. So when we get together for a wedding, we get to share that love with those we care about. Just like a painter or a poet, those involved in the planning of a wedding are artists hired to create a scene that reflects the love in the space. We would love to be a part of your team!
