Hi! My name is Valerie! I am a hopeless romantic who wants to be behind the lens of your love story. I fell in love with photography in my high school darkroom. I went on to major in media and communication at University of Washington with a focus on visual arts. I have always been a story teller, a big feeler and obsessed with all things love, so photographing weddings is quite literally living my dream. I have photographed over 130 weddings and have the same passion for them as when I first started. I cannot see myself doing anything else.

While I can take some Instagram-worthy portraits, I spend the majority of my time at weddings capturing all the little moments going on throughout the busy day. I was raised camping and hiking among the towering trees and rugged peaks of Washington's National Parks and am intimately familiar with the hidden treasures of the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. I've also lived all over the Western United States and Europe (Norway ... Yes way!) and I've spent years exploring Northern California, Arizona, and Europe. Jean-Marcus Strole, which is pronounced Shawn-Marcus for those who aren’t familiar with Scandinavian pronunciations, was born in the city of Uppsala, Sweden in 1977. His family decided to move to the land of opportunity when he was a child. Being that it is a little hard to support yourself at the tender young age of seven, he decided that he should probably move with them and see what the U.S. had to offer, besides a country where you have a 37% chance of becoming a cult member. Like most children in the late 90's and early 00's, I grew up with a camera in my hand. I went through polaroids, video cameras, disposable cameras, waterproof cameras, and film cameras; all the cameras! I was so fascinated by photography and the ability to preserve moments. I'm an ENFP, 7w6, and extroverted-introvert who is not only thrilled but humbled to be a witness and historian to the significant moments in your life we are able to share together!
