The photo was taken by me and I would guess with a basic point and shoot camera so the quality is not the best, kinda blurry, the colors are washed out but I LOVE that photo. That photo signifies to be to always be present and in the moment, because that’s the last photo I was able to take of my grandfather. I love what I do. I found my way to professional photography in a roundabout way, having started my working career as a marine scientist and environmental educator in CA and then on Maui. After years immersed in the ocean and hundreds of hours spent underwater, I realized that I was happiest on days when I could adventure freely with a camera in hand. The drive to learn more and become a better photographer lead me back to school on the east coast, where I ended up finding a new dream career and a home and community that I love.

You are probably assuming my about me section will have a story about how I always wanted to be a photographer, I came out of the womb holding a camera, but that couldn’t be me. I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!

To be ardent means to be passionate and joyful. What better way to describe what I do as a wedding photographer? Capturing couples in an authentic, natural, and beautiful way is what I love above all else. Taking the time to know each and every couple, what makes them laugh, and the challenges they've overcome lets me give each one an unforgettable experience - and a lifelong friend in the process!

I am a Huntsville, Alabama native, but moved to Nashville after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2013. ROLL TIDE! Although I consider Nashville home, I am anything but a homebody.
