Our design studio is located on our farm in central Massachusetts. We are passionate about growing and designing with unique blooms and pour our hearts into all aspects of our process from sowing seeds into healthy soil, to harvesting and arranging. Our farm, gardens, and the wild landscape around us lends inspiration and drives our designs to be seasonally conscious, a bit wild, and uniquely curated for each celebration. We strive to employ sustainable practices from start to finish.

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

I started my business in 2018, after I finished floral design classes from Cass School of Floral in Watertown, MA. I have had hands on experience from Floral Arts in Westford, MA and have completed over 15 weddings in my time as a floral designer. I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. I love using locally grown flowers as much as I can in my work, to really showcase 'farm to florist'.

Designer Mary B. Hayes of Semper Virens Flowers creates spirited, nature-inspired florals for weddings and elopements. We use seasonal and locally-grown flowers and foliage to create bespoke florals for you. Our flowers will truly bring more beauty and joy to your event! We also offer workshops, including floral crowns and flower bars, which are perfect for a bridal shower or reception activity. (Weddings limited to less than 125 guests. )
