Founded in 2011, we are a team of 3 lead planners and 6 assistant planners with a passion for producing modern, multicultural weddings. We have experience working on American, Caribbean, Nigerian, Liberian, Ethiopian, Sierra Leonean, Salvadorian, Jewish, Ghanaian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern and more cultures.

Aside from my love for all-things-events-and-weddings, I am a cat mom, dog mom (to the best dog ever, truly), goofy type-A (yes, we exist). I love everything coffee, purple, and vintage; I almost never go somewhere without red lipstick. And you’ll probably see me somewhere in downtown Frederick at least twice a week.

Shaymah Ansari Weddings is a wedding planning company based in Washington, DC with three wedding planning assistants and one lead. Owner and lead, Shaymah Ansari, has always been passionate about wedding planning; her love for wedding planning was inspired by the film "The Wedding Planner," starring Jennifer Lopez. Ever since, she's been obsessed with the idea of creating the perfect wedding and seeks to capture couples' love and devotion to each other in every event she and her company plans. Hi, I'm Charlene, My passion is weddings! It's my absolute joy to work with you to create a memorable wedding or event. When I see that big smile at the end of the night, that is my reward! I discovered my passion for weddings and events when I helped with Decor and set-up in a large church. I pursued my passion by taking college courses for wedding consulting. I went on to earn my Planning Certification through American Association of Wedding Professionals (AAWP.) I've always been an organizer, administrator, and communicator and this career allows me to use my extraordinary God-given talents for my clients . I live and breathe weddings!
