Hi there! We're Matt and Carrie. A husband and wife team of wedding photographers and suckers for a good love story. We believe you should aim high when it comes to photos of your wedding day. After all, those photographs are the one thing you'll have left to remember it by. Which is the very reason we take the job of telling your love story so seriously. And lucky for you, we’ve photographed together for 15 years on over 300 weddings. So, it's a job we are pretty great at. We know that documenting your love story requires more than an appearance from us on your wedding day. It requires that we develop a great relationship from day one.

I love keeping busy! Photography is my passion and part of who I am as an artist. I photographed my first wedding while in college, where I attended art school for photography. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts I continued to photograph and exhibit in New York City. As my work developed both technically and stylistically, my passion for photographing people drove me to focus on portraits and wedding photography.

Living Mindfully. I still remember every wedding moment I spent with my couples. I know its a momentous occasion to them. That's why I see it also through their eyes. I photographed my first wedding back in 2004. It was a multi-religion Indonesian Wedding in Washington, DC. In the morning the couple had their Catholic ceremony and a quaint reception at the Indonesian Diplomatic residence. Then in the afternoon they had the Muslim ceremony and a beautiful reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in DC. This was a good start to a fruitful wedding venture. From then on its been a glorious ride and I'm always looking forward to the next.

Born out of a passion for crafting art out of love stories, we know what it takes to have a good wedding just as well as we know how to document them. Weddings are our everyday studio; they are where we feel at home and can produce our Picasso’s. We recognize the inherent beauty of two people in love and let it unfold naturally because art is organic and we don’t like to get in the way. However, we will direct you when necessary, because we like to place you in the right place at the right time. We’re not omniscient, we just know weddings.

As a photographer, I am not the outsider looking in. I am not the fly on the wall. I am a storyteller and in order to do my job well, I have to be more than an outsider, more than a fly on the wall, more than a vendor and certainly more the "the help". I need to get to know you on a level that's deeper than a financial transaction. I need to understand who you are and what makes you different from all the others I have photographed. This is my craft.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York...in a large and value-minded neighborhood, where the sense of community was part of everyday life. Surrounded by lessons of resilience, passion and kindness, and armed with a young man's exuberance for adventure, I traveled around the East Coast with a backpack in tow. Being pragmatic by nature, I found work as a line cook, sous chef and butcher...a far cry from the creative field I would eventually find a home.

Kam Wickam is a photographer based in New York City photographing on both digital and film. Drawing from a blend of expertise in fine art and psychology, Wickam infuses her passion for photography with an editorial approach to portraiture.
