Hi! I’m Jess. I approach wedding photography with a photo journalistic eye, seeking out the authentic experiences of your day rather than fabricated moments. I shoot mostly film, medium format and 35mm, as well as a little bit of digital, to create timeless imagery that ages gracefully. Alongside weddings, I also run a tintype photography business. I offer the option to add on custom tintype portraits for weddings within a 6 hour driving radius of Portland. I am trained as a fine art photographer, studying at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and SFAI. I now live in the small town of Washougal, WA on the edge of the Columbia River Gorge.

I am an Oregon, USA born and raised portrait and wedding photographer. I have doing photography professionally for 10 years. I have dabbled with photography off and on my whole life but I have been professional since 2014, and as of Fall 2018, photography is my full-time pursuit! I currently reside in Ridgefield, Washington with my partner and two cats that are basically my children, I’m obsessed with animals. I love to travel! Road trips are my favorite so I can memorize the lyrics to songs and binge listen to podcasts- The Dollop, RedHanded & Crime Junkie are my favs!

Ever since my parents gave me my first Polaroid to snap shots while at the zoo I was hooked! It has been a passion of mine to capture life as it happens, to present the real reaction. I have lived in Washington my whole life and absolutely love this beautiful green state! I grew up right across the bridge from Portland, then moved to Seattle for 6 years, and now I'm back in Vancouver! For as long as I can remember, I've loved to take pictures. I got my first little film camera for Christmas when I was 8 years old. Looking for things to photograph filled me with so much joy and I would be giddy with excitement when my mom would bring home the developed photos for me to look through.

What do I love about what I do? Pretty much everything, but the best part is all of you. I consider it an incredible privilege to be invited into your lives to share your moments and help you tell your stories. And, what amazing stories! I am blessed, no, lavished with amazing clients who share their lives with me and often become my friends. What isn’t there to love about that?! Oh, and, yes, I’ve won awards (Portland Photographic Society and Bravo Weddings) and I’ve been doing this for a while, over 10 years.

Hey there! I’m Emma. I’m a sassy, sarcastic redhead and also a complete sap. To keep it short, I value relationships and experiences above nothing else (although some would say I have a serious West Elm and pizza addiction as well). I love reminiscing and think some of the best nights involve sharing a bottle of wine with old friends and laughing about all of our past adventures (while planning new ones too!).
