I have been DJing for friends, family, weddings, schools, and corporate events since 2010. In 2023, I finally launched my company, Williams Weddings and Events with a surge in demand for wedding services. I spent a few years working as a technical manager for a local theater company in Portland. My passion for excellence in audio came from this time running productions for the theater. I now DJ because I love it. It is my passion and an outlet for joy and creativity.

Melvins DJ Service is owned by Melvin and his wife, Sarah. Together for the past almost 10 years, they have built their business from the ground up, while raising their 3 kids. They have recently expanded into a photobooth business (The Couve Booth) primarily operated by Sarah, although offering packages that include both services. Operating out of SW Washington, DJ Melvin serves a broad range of clients and styles in a broad range of areas across Portland and Vancouver area. We do not contract out our DJ services.

John Ross Music and Production got its start in 2004. Oregon Bride Magazine first recognized the musician/DJs at John Ross Music and Production as the “Best Ceremony Musicians” in the state in 2013. The company won that same award again in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019, also adding the “Best Reception Band” honor to its list of achievements. As of 2020 the company employs 10 different musician/DJs as well as a full time office manager to serve its clients.

I love my job. For me, it’s kind of two-fold. One amazing part of the job is knowing that you are part of a couple’s most memorable day of their life—and assuming it goes well, they will remember you for it for the rest of their life. The other part is that I get to run a business and listen to music—two of my deepest passions. So running a DJ company mashes it all together in one great package.

After very successful professional stints in LA (30 years) and on Maui, (9 years), I relocated to Portland in 2017. I have collected dozens of 5 Star reviews from happy brides and couples.
