The Multicultural Arts Center

5.0

Cambridge, MA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,600

This Victorian treasure was built in the late 1880s, and originally served as the county courthouse. It’s been lovingly restored, and boasts a two-story theater space with an exquisitely embellished ceiling and wraparound mezzanine balcony. In the warmer months, ceremonies may be held in Centanni Courtyard. This airy outdoor space continues the historic feel of the Arts Center with lawns, a large arbor, and brick pathways. Your rental fee helps support the Center’s mission: to educate the community about diversity through the presentation of multicultural arts programs, and to make the center available to artists and groups who may not otherwise have access to a professionally equipped space.

We couldn't be more happy with our choice to have our wedding ceremony and reception last weekend at CMAC! Adria was very communicative pre-event and easily adjusted our contract when we had to delay our date by one year. She also let us drop stuff off decorations the night before and pick things up the following Monday which was very helpful logistically. M ran our sound and lights and they were very organized and willing to work with us on running a playlist rather than using a DJ. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had our ceremony at the park outdoors but CMAC is really appealing because there's a good option for an indoor ceremony if it rains. The venue overall is absolutely stunning and our guests were raving about how beautiful the historic ballroom was. Great value for the Boston area and a perfect spot for a city wedding, with the airport and many hotels nearby.

Cambridge Boat Club

5.0

Cambridge, MA
  • Up to 120 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,000

Cambridge Boat Club is a social and rowing club, located on the banks of the Charles River overlooking Eliot Bridge. Originally built in 1909, CBC was picked up in its entirety and rolled upstream to its current location in 1947, to make room for the building of Memorial Drive. Featuring vaulted ceilings and dark exposed beams akin to a ski chalet, and double french doors opening to a full length veranda, CBC offers a unique, rustic setting for any event.

The Cambridge Boat Club was the perfect choice for our New England fall-themed wedding! It is an absolutely gorgeous location on the river with just the right amount of historic charm. We had originally considered going with all-inclusive venues, but ultimately opted for the flexibility we had with the CBC to craft our own vision. The venue features two distinct rooms, a larger room called the Drinkwater room, which can be used for the wedding dinner, the Club Room, which was used for cocktail hour and the dance floor, and a porch, which has a stunning view. The layout perfectly accommodated both the party enthusiasts and our more introverted guests, who preferred quieter spaces for rest and socialization away from the dance floor. Opting for this venue requires a more DIY approach compared to all-inclusive options. Since it is a historic building, there are some restrictions to be aware of, e.g. no sparklers or ceiling drapery, and existing wall decor generally need to stay on the wall. This was no issue for us since we had a clear vision for the wedding theme and decor, and enlisted the help of Tastings Catering (highly recommend, since they have previous experience working in this space and also handle some of the decor) and Designlight. Major shoutout to Katie Donnelly, the club manager at Cambridge Boat Club, who always responded in record time to all our inquiries and provided helpful guidance. With everyone's help, we were able to create the wedding of our dreams!

When looking for wedding venues, Olio was the first on our list as we lived in the surrounding area. We originally looked at Olio as a “reach” venue just because we were initially intimidated by the amount of work it might have been to also hire all of the other vendors for our event. However, after touring many other venues, we always came back to Olio and committed. From the very beginning, Sarah and her team we responsive and flexible with us. We opted to hire several vendors outside of those recommended, while still using some recommended vendors as well. The Olio team supported us and all of our vendors unequivocally and truly helped ease all of my worries about coordinating many vendors and the timeline seamlessly. On the day of our wedding, I was not worried about anything other than my husband and the fun we were having. Olio was a dream venue space, and the best canvas for our vision. Our wedding was everything we imagined and more. The space fit our style and aesthetic perfectly, the downtown area is a dreamy industrial vibe, and there is nothing quite like the feeling of taking Main St photos with the community driving by, honking and shouting their well-wishes. Olio was so accessible for all our guests’ needs and somehow the space made a 165 person wedding feel intimate. I am forever glad we chose Olio and I would trust Sarah and her team with any of our future events.

Hampshire House

5.0

Boston, MA
  • Up to 100 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor

The Hampshire House is a classic turn-of-the-century mansion on historic Beacon Hill, where generations of Bostonians and their guests have wined, dined, and danced the night away. Hampshire House offers sweeping views of the Boston Public Garden. This five-story Georgian revival townhouse was lavished with Italian marble, carved oak paneling, crystal chandeliers, and tall Palladian windows. Hampshire House opens its doors for lavish private events - the perfect spot for elegant wedding celebrations. Whether you are dreaming of an intimate champagne brunch or an elaborate evening reception, the Hampshire House will help you design a personalized and unforgettable experience that is all your own.

Awarded Best of Zola
Everything about Hampshire House was flawless. From the moment that we stepped in at The Library on the 2nd floor, we knew that this was the right place for our reception. It's impeccable and provides an aura of elegance and style. The flexibility that Hampshire House offers, with the option of having up to two bars and two floors, is truly unmatched. This allows you to play with the space to create an intimate environment for all of the guests. We were able to spend a moment of quality time with each one of them. All the communication was extremely clear and expressed on time. We planned everything in under three months and they were able to accommodate all of our needs, requests, and last-minute changes in a seamless manner. Lindsay Beshero was outstanding, she was always on top of every detail and made sure that the reception was perfectly timed and ran smoothly. I just can't recommend her enough as your main point of contact for any event or wedding. The professionalism of the staff was incredible. They were very attentive to all the guests, especially the elderly ones, always eager to help, and made sure that the place looked in great shape by the time all the guests arrived and that it remained that way throughout the evening. As for the food, it was out of this world. Due to the size of our guest list, we decided to go with the buffet option and that was the best decision. People were able to try the two pasta stations, the tenderloin, and the salmon. The guests liked it so much that there was a line for seconds and they even asked us where did we got the hors d'oeuvres from. Hampshire House is a top-tier wedding venue in the Boston area. Flanked by the streets of Beacon Hill and right in front of the Boston Public Garden, the building's elegance makes you feel that you are part of history or, in this case, that you are making history there.

Jasmine and Suzy were the perfect duo to help make our wedding day and weekend absolutely perfect. Jasmine was the most incredible day of planner. She answered all of our questions thoroughly via email leading up to our wedding date, and coordinated meeting with us in person at the Estate several times beforehand. Jasmine and Suzy even hosted my parents for a weekend so they could see the estate prior to the wedding day! A few days before the wedding we last minute decided we wanted to "ice" our guests with Smirnoff ice bottles and Jasmine helped us execute it perfectly! Jasmine was amazing at keeping all wedding-related events on time and kept on schedule. We couldn't have made it through the weekend without her meticulous planning. Suzy was awesome at delivering drinks and snacks to the girls getting ready and cheese boards and drinks to the boys. The morning after the wedding Suzy was on hand with plenty of breakfast foods to send us off after the most perfect weekend. I highly recommend booking this venue. It is absolutely gorgeous! We did the Gatsby experience and couldn't have asked for anything more. Our bridal party and close family were able to stay on-site or close by at one of the local inn's. Do yourself a favor and check out this amazing team and venue for your upcoming wedding!

Just recently got married here in April 2022. The venue was gorgeous and we had to switch coordinators the day before because ours was sick but they did a phenomenal job! They really took care of me and my husband we never had to wait for a drink they made sure we stayed on our schedule they were wonderful and really thought of everything. I heard from almost everyone it was the best wedding food they have had yet! The only downside was we had a 190 person wedding and the bar was absolutely packed at all times, they ran out of vodka and tequila in the first round of drinks and all of the garnishes soon after. Would definitely recommend doing the per person open bar if you have a remotely drinking crowd. We ended up spending twice what it would have cost us if we did that option because people then had to get grey goose etc when they ran out of everything else.

Four Winds Farm Events

5.0

Peterborough, NH
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Four Winds Farm is a family-run boutique events space that centers around an antique barn. The barn is decked out with antique decor and has two large fireplaces to help create a cozy New England autumn wedding atmosphere. Four Winds Farm is over 300 acres of land in Southern New Hampshire including forests, rolling hillsides, mountain-views, a wetland beaver pond, and all the fall foliage your guests can handle. Our barn was converted from housing animals to being a center for theater and productions in the early 1900s and features a fantastic backdrop from a 1920's production. It is lit up with market lights and optional lanterns. We provide round tables and chairs to be set up however you choose, and we can accommodate whatever vendors and catering you prefer. We offer overnight lodging in our Hill House and Log Cabin as an additional package, and we include adjacent cottage rooms for your bridal prep. Check out our website for the full scope of our offerings.

Hi; If you want authentic New England wedding, Four Winds Farm is it. We looked at a lot of places and there are some great ones, but nothing has the authenticity and variety that this venue has - the barn, the wood-paneled sun porch, the huge house on the hill, the giant maple tree, the gardens, the trails - you'll want to get married twice (to the same person of course) - the possibilities are endless. Its at the end of a dead end road on an old apple orchard so it feels really private. We stayed for the whole weekend and had people camp and stay if they wanted to - there's extra bedrooms for family or friends. It really felt like there was no one there but our wedding party, and we were encouraged to use the entire property (like I said there are trails and lots of beautiful places to explore and hang). It was seriously amazing, more than we could have imagined!
