Smolak Farms is steeped in history. At the age of two, owner Michael Smolak bore witness to his Aunt Willie’s wedding on the farm. Little did he know then, back in 1954, that that wedding would be the start of a long and beautiful tradition of using Smolak Farms as a cherished wedding venue. He moved to the United States in 1995 and took his family with him. They fell in love with what is now Monadnock Berries and the rest is history. They started as a family farm and consider their employees to be family as well.

In 2007, Chestnut Street Church, already on the National Registry of Historic Places, was purchased and completely renovated, turning it into a locally loved and nationally acclaimed restaurant, Grace, in 2009. Grace operated as a full service restaurant and event space until 2019 when we again reimagined the beautiful structure to concentrate only on the event side of the business so we could make more room for beautiful weddings, exciting functions and our commitment to having space for our community efforts.

Woodfords Club is an historic venue in Portland, Maine. Incorporated as a social club in 1913, the charm of this era has been maintained through recent restoration efforts as is seen in the lobby room you step into upon entering the Club. Ample on-site parking is available for your use.

Our barn uses centuries - old techniques and traditions of joining heavy timber frames with a mortise and tenon method, supported by wooden pegs and brackets. Using local woodworkers and craftsman bring the true Maine experience to our barn.
