I'm Sarandon (pronounced SU-RAN-DIN). I'm an artist and photographer in Baltimore, Maryland where I live with my husband, our daughter, and our Australian Shepherd pup. Growing up in rural Virginia my intro to photography came to me at 14 while breaking into abandoned houses with friends to take photos that can only be describe in retrospection as “experimental”. Fast forward a handful of years and I found myself going 'legit' and holding a BFA in photography, later finding yet more perspective and cutting my teeth shooting society events in NYC. Having now spent more years of my life taking photos than not, it’s safe to say that I’m all in.

Hi, I’m Yelitza (Je-lit-sa ... don't worry! I got you). I’m a photographer, wife, nurse, fur-mom of three, new avid hiker, and a pretty darn good baker; and I’m here (dramatic pause) to tell your story. I found photography my freshman year of high school (I needed some credits in a pinch and this was it), three days in class and I was in love. Fast forward a few year (hey! hey! not too many years... Watch it! lol) and I'm still just as in love as that third day.

My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse.

As your wedding photographer, I take on more of a documentary approach and prefer to shoot with little interruption throughout your big day. Sure there will be times where posing is necessary, but for the most part, I know just how much planning and work and detail has gone into this celebration of the start of your marriage.
