Lindsay Block

5.0

New York, NY
  • Beauty professional

Lindsay Block got her start as a hairstylist in New York City. She trained at the renowned Frédéric Fekkai Salon and spent nearly a decade at their chic Soho location before venturing out on her own. She delivers a fresh, modern, and effortless approach to hair. Originally from California, she has lived internationally in Tokyo and London, calling NYC home since 2001. Her effervescent personality is infectious and she has the innate ability to adapt her creative vision, collaborating seamlessly with her clients. Especially the connection with her brides, most of whom are lifelong clients!

I worked with Lindsay at a wedding in NYC this past fall and I can't wait to work with her again! She created the most perfect old hollywood style waves for this classic NYC bride. So often, hair like this doesn't make it through the day, but this still looked amazing as the reception was coming to an end. Plus, Lindsay was super laid back, kind, and easy to work with. Everything was done right on schedule too! I can't recommend Lindsay enough!

Perched atop the Museum of Arts and Design, Robert offers a modern classic dining experience with unparalleled views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Our restaurant embodies elegance and sophistication, reflected in both its exquisite decor and the innovative seasonal menu crafted by Chef Armando Cortes. With three stunning event spaces to choose from, including the chic Robert restaurant on the 9th floor, a versatile white box event space on the 7th floor, and a grand 143-seat theater, we cater to every wedding-related celebration, from intimate engagement parties to lavish receptions. Say 'I do' to breathtaking views, impeccable service, and unparalleled luxury at Robert. Let us be the backdrop to your love story, where dreams come true against the stunning backdrop of Central Park's natural splendor.

Working on events at Robert is always a pleasure. It has a striking decor and an unparalleled view of Columbus Circle and Central Park, and so we rarely need to add anything to make the room look great, and can focus purely on the more technical aspects of the event. Uniquely, it has an enormous and dramatic TV screen in the back that fits well into the decor if it's not being used, but can also be used for presentations of all kinds, and it has a nicely-balanced built-in sound system that makes our lives easier. It's not the largest of spaces, but it's very flexible and so we've still been able to cover a wide variety of events including multiple microphones, multiple TV screens, small stages, DJ's, and more. The team there is always excellent to work with, always looking to help ensure that everything fits exactly right, goes smoothly, and upholds the standards of quality that they are committed to.

Joanna Toto

  • Fine art style

Inspired by the likes of Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton whose works she inhaled early on, Joanna likes to blend traditional imagery with unexpected compositions and negative space, adding her personal, fashion-forward flair to the documentary nature of event photography. After many years of directing models, she is an expert at gently guiding couples on their wedding day, encouraging natural connections and documenting the results. Passed through the anvil of anxiety and adrenaline that is Fashion, Joanna's personality turned out easy-going and her calm presence conceals an ever watchful artistic eye.

Joanna is an incredibly kind person and a fantastic photographer. Not only are her photographs outstanding, but she also is a true pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable with her right from the start of our engagement shoot through our wedding reception. She is very generous of her time and was actively involved in the post-wedding process of helping us choose photos for our album (which was difficult because there were so many great ones!). We cannot recommend her more highly!

Dave Robbins Photography

  • Photojournalistic style

Dave has photographed the weddings of notables like Christina Hendricks, Ellie Kemper and Piper Perabo, who sought him out for his one-of-a-kind brand of visual storytelling. Renowned for unique ability in finding beautiful nuance, Dave is one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the world. Passionate about his craft yet relaxed in his approach, Dave prides himself in his innate ability to put clients at ease. "When a subject is totally comfortable, they feel free to be themselves. What results from this is the beauty of authenticity".

Dave Robbins is an excellent photographer and, more importantly, an absolute pleasure to work with. We wanted to take photos walking around New York City, and even though it was raining, Dave was a total champ about it and took amazing pictures. We were also looking for a photographer whose photos weren't muted and instead "popped," and this was definitely the case with Dave's pictures. Dave also captured our joy and spirit on such a happy day, and we had so much fun working with him. We couldn't recommend Dave highly enough.

Flowers By Special Arrangement

  • Florist

Flowers by Special Arrangement is a luxury floral design company that was established in 1981. We love working with couples to produce a unique event that tells their story. We offer free consultations, walkthroughs at the venue and samples to ensure that the event is beautiful and smooth

Shula Weiner and her staff at Flowers by Special Arrangement were very warm and welcoming when I first visited the shop; I also found them to be very helpful. They listened intently when I explained my ideas for the flowers at my wedding and built on those ideas using their deep knowledge, creativity and expertise. As a bride-to-be and a passionate flower lover, I couldn't have been more delighted with the results: stunning floral arrangements with intense colors and rich textural contrasts. As beautiful as they were, the flowers did not overwhelm my intimate affair but instead, charmed my guests and perfectly adorned the spare setting! And the flowers for my husband's corsage and my bouquet were exceptionally well chosen and composed.

Angela began her career as a florist since she was a little girl helping her father in his flower studio, and in event production when she founded her first company, STUDIO3, in 2003. STUDIO3 is a full service event design and production firm that serves clients in the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle industries.

Studio3 started as simply my flower vendor, but when I realized Angela also did full event production I was thrilled she could handle the entire event. From tabletop, to tent setup, there was nothing too big or small for her and her team. So glad to have her create such magical day us. I will definitely be calling her for other parties in the future.

The Jon Bates Band

5.0

New York, NY
  • Band or Ensemble

THE JON BATES BAND is an amazing dance-oriented “party band” that always gets folks dancing, feeling good and celebrating the occasion! THE JON BATES BAND is a "destination event band". They have literally performed all over the globe, providing an arsenal of abundantly talented musicians and vocalists, who perform an extensive repertoire of popular music in all styles and genres. They have the professionalism and touring experience required to offer clients the highest quality entertainment options on every level, and they have shared stages with some of the most legendary performers on the planet! - find more info at www.JonBatesBand.com

We saw the Jon Bates Band perform at our friends' wedding in Vermont a number of years ago. My now-husband and I knew (before we were even engaged!) that we wanted these guys to play our wedding, should we get to that point together. Fortunately, they travel all over and were happy to come to Delaware for our 10/5/2019 wedding. Communication was smooth throughout the entire process, and they were completely open to working with us on our song list and catering to what we really love most. Their rendition of our first dance song was spot-on to what we hoped it would be. They played a consistently strong set all night and had everyone - and I mean everyone! - up and dancing. I can honestly say that it could not have gone better, nor could we have enjoyed it more. I highly recommend this group of talented musicians.

Bridget Vizoso Design

5.0

New York, NY
  • Florist

BVD is a specialty boutique florist where floral artists are hand picked to produce arrangements composed of unusually rich textural combinations of cultivated, foraged and locally grown materials. Her client's wishes are translated into unforgettable floral experiences. Bridget and her team begin the process of buying and conditioning up to 5 days before the event to ensure that every variety is brought to its' fullest expression of development. The craft of floristry is elevated to the artisanal level at the BVD studio and each piece reflects a sensitivity to shape, color and movement where no two are ever exactly alike.

Bridget is a genius designer - a floral designer's floral designer. For our wedding, she transformed the rooms of an old mansion into gorgeous, lush worlds exceeding our imaginations. The end result was like a spectacular film set. Bridget met with us and visited the venue multiple times to help us conceptualize and implement the ideas. Working with her was a pleasure. She's clever, fun and incredibly industrious; she will go long and far to source the best flowers from the best providers. She even helped us procure beautiful 15' tall birch trees to use in our ceremony and then helped us repurpose them after the event by arranging transport to a family home 100 miles out of NYC. We could not have found a better partner for such an important celebration.

Justin Lee Weddings

New York, NY
  • Photographer

Drawing inspiration from films, photojournalism, and fine art— my work is best described as cinematic and timeless. From photographing small to large weddings, intimate elopements, to covering the Tony Awards— I've learned that every wedding & event is important and unique. My approach as a photographer is to not only create images that feel honest and interesting, but to document a story— while subtly being in the background. Capturing moments you were in the middle of, and moments that you probably never even saw— so that one day when you look back on these images years from now, you'll be reminded of what that day was.

Working with Justin was a dream. When we were planning our wedding, we knew that photography was one of the most important aspects for us, and we wanted to make sure we worked with someone that understood our desire of editorial looking photos versus those cheesy posed wedding photos we often see. We found Justin's work on Instagram and immediately reached out to work together. His pricing was super reasonable especially for the NYC area, and we were so comfortable with him the moment we met him for our engagement shoot. We weren't comfortable in front of the camera but he did such an amazing job at pulling our personalities and our story out so that it translated into the most beautiful photos. One of our photos on the subway was even featured on Zola's Instagram! Justin ended up becoming a friend after we worked with him and we received so many compliments on how beautiful both our engagement and wedding photos are. He delivered the photos so quickly and it was clear that he was personally invested in our love story. We can't recommend Justin enough - he is truly the best photographer and you will be able to relive your big day in the best, most beautiful way with his photos.

Bonnie Gillis Photography

  • Classic style

Bonnie Gillis is an NYC-based photographer specializing in weddings, portraits, and branding campaigns for luxury brands and boutique hotels. Bonnie honed her skills at Columbia University and the International Center of Photography, and approaches her craft with an eye to storytelling and memory-making. Her elegant style captures the essence of a celebration, allowing couples to revisit the aura of their special day long after the final dance of the night has ended.

Bonnie made us, both typically camera shy, feel extremely comfortable. Before the shoot, she helped us choose our outfits by sending us a helpful wardrobe guide and location guide. She made the process easy by having a plan for each location we shot and giving direction when we needed it. She boosted our confidence and made us feel at ease throughout, which made us loosen up and resulted in great images. So happy we chose Bonnie for our engagement photos!

Monica Re Martin

Monica Re Martin is a in-demand NYC violinist, violist and strings arranger - and the perfect contractor for your wedding! Monica performs regularly on Broadway, with the NYC Ballet, and with top artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Kygo. She can be seen playing weddings on TV shows like "Summer House" and "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." Monica is available as a solo violinist, both acoustic and electric, and as an instrumental duo, string trio, or string quartet.

I hired Monica and her quartet to play during our wedding cocktail hour! Monica was professional throughout and communicated really well with me from the moment I booked her to the day of the wedding! She offered to arrange songs for me that may not be on her very comprehensive list. We requested pop songs on strings and the vibe was perfect! I would highly recommend booking Monica to contract and play at your wedding!

The Evercake

5.0

New York, NY
  • Baker
  • Starts at $6 per serving

The Evercake concept started as I was ordering flowers online while skimming Pinterest for my toddler's birthday cake. I wanted a beautiful cake that I could add to a cart and have delivered. Why didn't this exist? A few months later, The Evercake was born. We are different in that we are strictly buttercream based (no overworked fondant here). Our recipes are tried and true, slightly less sweet, and with designs aimed to be worthy of your celebrations. We don't have a traditional storefront with overhead to worry about it, which means we don't have to mark up our cakes to account for this.

Our cake from the Evercake was the culinary highlight of my bridal shower!! The geode design was almost too gorgeous to cut into, and the berry cream filling was so delicious (beats out Milk Bar any day) and tasted dangerously light. Will definitely be ordering from them for our next celebration.

Reel Feels

5.0

New York, NY
  • Videographer
  • Documentary style
  • Starts at $3,500

1. We've been best friends since high school. We're not related and we're not dating (despite the fact that we start almost every sentence with "we") but we are allies of the LGBTQ+ community ✊🏼 2. We're from Florida originally but we currently live in Manhattan in a 2 bedroom apartment in the East Village. 3. We're into fashion, vegetarian food, and astrology. Tessa's a scorpio and Madi's a virgo ✨ 4. The only way we know how to relax is by watching The Bachelor or Love Island. Reality TV is our guilty pleasure 🙈 5. Something very unique to us is that we like to travel and we both have passports so feel free to invite us abroad with you 😉

Reel Feels is actually the best! Our photographer recommended them initially and once we saw their work we knew we needed them. We weren’t sure we had room in our budget for videography but ultimately decided that with all the time and money we were putting into the wedding it was worth having a record of it all. It was ultimately one of the best decisions we made while wedding planning. Working with Reel Feels was great from the start! Tessa was super easy to talk to and very flexible in finding a package that worked for both of us. The day of the wedding they were super professional and did an incredible job. My husband and I were probably not the easiest to work with thanks to some generous bartenders but they seem to keep their cool which helped us keep our cool. We got our teaser trailer back 2 weeks after the wedding and WOW! It was even better than we imagined! I would recommend them to EVERYONE and not just because they were the best to work with but I mean have you seen their work? They know what they are doing!

I realized that I had found my calling and have been producing stunning wedding photographs with my amazing team and clients ever since.

While we haven't received our final set of photos, we are obsessed with our previews!!! We just got married last weekend and loved working with Ryan, Massimo, and Michael on our wedding day. They were all a very calming presence and directed us as needed to get the best shots/footage. Emma worked with us on our budget and was very transparent and communicative about what we could/couldn't do. We're really excited to get the rest and highly recommend Emma Cleary Photo & Video.

Perfect Wedding NYC is a team of professional photographers who are highly experienced in capturing weddings, engagements and newlyweds photoshoots in the most iconic locations of NYC, including Central Park, Dumbo, famous rooftops, etc. Our style can be described as classic but lively, including plenty of candid shots, street style portraits, capturing of your special day’s atmosphere and all the important details. We will create a custom route for your perfect wedding photography experience based on your personal preferences.

My husband and I just got our pictures back from Marta and we are IN LOVE. She captured our style and personalities perfectly and had great suggestions. From the very first email Marta was extremely responsive and easy to work with, one of the areas I suggested was under construction so she offered alternatives and we loved how they turned out. Something to note - we are moving to the city but traveled in from out of town, the communication and groundwork she did made the whole process seamless & I highly recommend working with Marta if you're coming in from out of town. The day of the shoot she was on time, and so much fun to hang out with, she made it an easy hour for both of us. We got our pictures back before the deadline she set, and could not be happier. We'll definitely book with her again next year!

Sugartone Brass Band

The Sugartone Brass Band has been playing private events since 2002. Our first private event was a Christmas Party thrown for the workers of a warehouse owned by a family of Hasidic Jews in Brooklyn. Needless to say, no event is too ‘unique’ for us to handle. From tasteful ceremonial music to fun dance grooves, let us help you celebrate your wedding in style.

Our wedding had different pieces given it was planned during the covid-19 vaccination rollout so we decided to bridge our ceremony on a boat with family to a larger reception at a venue four blocks away. We discussed our vision of having the band warm up of reception guests and parade all of us to the venue. Kenny was so easy to coordinate with regarding our song requests and they were incredible! They even play led happy birthday to some special guests before leaving. Our vibe for vendors was 'good vibes only' and we lucked out with the perfect energy for moment - crucial for our day. Weeks later and our friends and family are still talking about a band that played for two hours of a long party.

If you're searching for a photographer who will make you feel comfortable, cool, and let you thrive as your true selves, hello, you've come to the right place! I genuinely want to forge a connection, hang with you, and earn your trust. I'll capture everything, and I'll be there for you whether you need a safety pin or someone to wipe away your tears.

Where do I even start?! Our journey with Sydney began 3 years ago when we fell in love with her style and video chatted with her before hiring her to take our engagement photos. From the very beginning, Sydney felt like a good friend, made us feel totally comfortable, and had amazing ideas for great photos. We were above and beyond happy with our photos and couldn't wait for her to shoot our wedding. Our wedding day finally came around and OH. MY. GOD. Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful our photos are! She knew exactly what I liked and somehow managed to capture all the little details and ALL THE LOVE perfectly! I've had multiple people tell me that her photos are the best they've ever seen! Every single one! There weren't just some good photos, they were ALL good! Sydney is very communicative, open to changes, easily reachable, and will work hard to make you happy! Thank you so much for allowing us to relive our perfect day! <3

Beautini is a luxury beauty concierge that provides custom hair and makeup services while giving brides and their bridal parties a unique experience- complete with bubbly and robes, so they can sip and enjoy themselves, making for the ultimate beauty experience. The Beautini team is composed of talented beauty professionals with years of experience -who work with your every need to relieve any stress from your big day. We personalize our services to create the perfect package for you and your bridal party. We want to be on this journey with you from start to finish; from the engagement photos until you say “I do.”

The team did an amazing job. I used them for both hair and makeup, and I hired two MUAs and two hair stylists for a total of two hours (plus set up and final touches). I had done a *lot* of price shopping, and this was by far the most economical option to get both services done. My goal was to have my makeup look as natural as possible, and they (my MUA was Yara) nailed it: it blended into my skin perfectly and they made me look like I'm just a naturally glowing person with a flawless complexion. My hair (stylist Holly) also looked fantastic and had no problems the entire night. I had my hair down until the reception and twisted it up into an allegator clip for the dancing; when I took it out, everything fell right back into place and looked like I'd barely touched it. My MOL got covid a few days before the wedding, so we had to pivot quickly and fill her spot. My mom stepped in, despite not wanting to have her makeup done by someone else because she has had bad experiences in the past, and also, she was worried about looking age appropriate. Yara worked on her, too, and she did such a great job. My mom was so happy and relieved. She had been really stressed out, but Yara was so chill and supportive, and I know my mom is so happy she got her makeup done. To replace my MOL's hair appointment, a male friend of mine with very long hair took the spot. They didn't blink twice, and people were gushing about his hair for days. When I first did my makeup trial, my face did not accept the makeup well, and they were very quick to schedule me for a redo. I forgot to tell them before the redo that I wanted to try out the airbrush, so they scheduled me for a third session just to test it out. Everyone was really easy to work with and quick to reply. When I first reached out through their online query, I had not heard back, so I reached out again a few days later. Within an hour, I got a call profusely apologizing because my query had gone to spam for some reason. I mention this to highlight that they reply, and they reply quickly, so if you reach out and don't hear anything, it means something's gone wrong. Everyone looked fantastic, and I felt super confident in how I looked for the entire day. I highly recommend the team.

It’s a pretty cool/weird thing when your hobby becomes your job, so I feel like I am still working on being a more well rounded human hobby-wise. I love hiking with my pup Tucker, bringing my hammock to the park with a good book, finding cool events happening in the city, making homemade milkshakes(you haven’t lived until you’ve made a pb&j milkshake with chocolate sauce. Stop reading and go do that now, you’ll thank me later), oh and watching way too much TV! It’s the golden age of television, so how can you not.

Shmoné is the newest New York City restaurant from head chef Eyal Shani. Here, we take a highly-seasonal, thoroughly market-driven approach to products and ingredients — with dishes evolving and appearing as their ingredients ripen and age. Our small size provides exciting opportunities for culinary creativity and invention — literally on a daily basis. Whereas one evening's dishes may center around just-to-market spring vegetables, menus mere days later might be built around an unexpectedly robust haul from local seas. Shmoné offers a tabula rasa of sorts for our chefs to follow their heart and indulge their inspirations without being confined by the rigors of a large-scale restaurant operation. This is the impetus behind Shmoné, an intimate, ever-evolving culinary experience powered by the dynamism that Eyal Shani has become known for. "We will cook with what we find each morning and let the dishes seduce and delight right in front of your eyes," - Eyal Shani

27 years ago I called myself a photographer for the first time. I was attending photography school in Sweden and participated in my first gallery show. 2 years earlier I was visiting a friend in LA. I had him chase seagulls on the beach while I snapped away, capturing their flight. I remember that moment I decided to become a photographer. For real. I was discouraged by a job coach after high school, intending a photography eduction. “There are no jobs for photographers!” she barked at me. I took her word for it. I remembered reading an article about the same school, ICP. It had felt like a dream that could never happen to me.

Hi! My name Shira Seaman and I’m a New York based makeup artist specializing in bridal and event makeup. I first dabbled in makeup back in 5th grade when I was bullied for acne. I thought in order to be pretty I needed to cover up my imperfections… later I learned that was far from the truth, and that makeup was meant for enhancing not concealing. After being a self-taught artist for several years I decided to further my education by attending Make-Up Designory in NYC. Many people have described me as being charismatic, calming, hardworking, organized and time efficient.
