Located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District, The Art Room is a 4,000 square foot, modern industrial event space. The Art Room was born in Fall 2019 on the concept of creating an event space with the juxtaposition of industrial and fine arts. After seeing the rustic space, we started renovations right away. Given the timing of opening our space, we, like many others, were halted due to COVD-19. Beginning in the Spring of 2021 we were able to resume hosting events and honing in on the original concept of a versatile event venue partnered with a fine arts gallery.

The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts boasts two unique event spaces: The Historic Landmark Building houses the oldest art school and museum in the Country with world-renowned architecture by Furness & Hewitt. The NSCDA/PA owns its Headquarters House located at 1630 Latimer Street in Philadelphia. Built by and for the Dames under the leadership of Mrs. James Starr, Jr., the house has served as the Dames home since its completion in 1923. The building was designed by the Philadelphia Architectural firm Ritter and Shay. Marion Coffin, one of the first female landscape architects, was instrumental in desgining the garden which is a four seasons delight to all who use the house. Headquarters is the setting for Philadelphia Stated Meetings, the meetings of the Board of Managers and its Committees, and for the Society's Annual meeting. The archives of the Society, including lineage papers of our members, both living and deceased, are housed here as well. Headquarters is also available to the general public to rent for weddings and events.
