Now my dad didn't share this same joy as me because back then it was all film and every snapshot I took...he knew he had to pay to develop. I live in Portland with my little family and I am thankful every day that I get to do something I love as a full time career. I got my BFA in photography from California College of the Arts in 2009, and started shooting weddings shorty after that. I believe there is so much magic in a photograph. It allows something to keep on existing, even after it’s gone. I strive to capture moments authentically but cleverly, using light, color and composition to make things compelling and beautiful. I try to be as candid as possible and use very minimal posing; taking a photojournalistic approach whenever I can.
